My boy went to jail 5 years ago on a crack case for dealing. They seized all his assets, sent him to the federal prison for 15 years and house him next to violent criminals like murderers, rapists, and pedofiles.

He works 12 hours a day for one dollar a day making furniture that the prison (operated as a private corporation to *make* money....which has also been know to *shut off water* for days in a row to *save money* and in turn *create more revenue*) sells for hundreds of dollars per piece.

And they say slavery *ended* how many years ago? Or did it really?

I disagree with putting non-violent offenders in with the hardcore criminals(murderers, rapists, child molesters etc)...because if anything, the non violent ones are most likely average people that just made a mistake...but when you put em in with all the hardcore criminals their gonna most likely turn into hardcore criminals because they gotta be as tough and violent as the worse ones in order to survive....so in other words the prison systems more or less start a cycle.

yes, a cycle to make money off of people in prison. many prisons are *privately owned* and therefore can be run however they see fit. if that means turning off the water or not providing food to make "budget", so be it. plus they put them to work all day and make big chips off of their labor, keeping all the profits and not turning the money over to organizations to stop the circumstance of poverty that often leads to crime.

becuase its privately owned, the state paids the private prison
for each prisoner....they might not even use all the money for
each prisoner.....another way to profit.

Damn that's a trip...I always figured prisons were owned by the state.
some are, some are not. the ones that are not are even worse than the ones that are. it's seriously disturbing and very sad. i spent 6 hours in jail and thought i was going to go apeshit. image 15 years for selling drugs. now i know it's not "right", but 15 years? for the "war on drugs" aka the war on blacks and latinos? the punishment for crack cocaine is 3 times that of powder and now my homie is sewed up for 15 instead of 5. he would've been done by now. drugs suck....my brother died of an overdose, but i still wouldn't commit his seller to 15 years.

The worst part about the whole situation is that once these cats get out their so behind in time that it seems almost impossible to catch up...not to mention that a felony on your record puts a big hamper on things as well, but yeah I know what your sayin...i've known cats that have been to fed prison and they said it was basically a cakewalk where as people that have been to some of the smaller prisons say they wouldnt wish that shit on their worst enemy.

PS sorry about your brother i've seen the first hand damage that hard drugs are capable of, once people get to a certain stage it's like drugs are all that they live for anymore....everyone else seems to notice except them.

law says slavery is abolished except for the convicted felon.

the war on drugs is a two faced war with drugs

money is a self inflicted slavery. hence liberty is payed for.

call me twisted but if i had the knowledge and resources i'd invest in corporately funded prison. why because i KNOW i'll get a return on my investment.

the war with drugs is atriccy game. be neither a seller, user, or eithers socialite and you wont get caught up.

there are thousands of way to make money that dont involve selling drugs. or any other criminal act.

I'd rather be in 20 years in debt than twenty years in prison.

SH gave the facts, do the math

Damn girl? You almost apeshit? But I didn't know some prisons were privately owned. Guess I won't be saving my change jar $ for those new Guess jeans. I'm gonna buy me a prison! Sorry to hear about your brother. My boy died the same way. My mom called me at work & said, "You can't drive up your street cuzz somebody's dead." So I left work to see what the deal was. And there was Paco, on the side of a house, in broad daylight. He was only out of jail for 2 days (he still had his jail id bracelet on). Nobody even knew he was home. But what's even more fucked up is that they said he didn't die there. It looked like somebody put him there.

RIP

yea just wait til you get caught on the wrong side of the law. it's easier than you think.
Was he selling crack or not?

If so, oh well. My friend got caught up for doing the same thing...they took his house, cars...everything. He's my boy and all, but he fucked up. He knew what he was doing.....

And it's not that easy for crack to just jump up in your pocket.....
