Cotto has to fight his mandatory first i think. The fight was good but i dunno i think cotto won by a good size margin, dont understand about the comments of it could of been a draw. Imma about to watch it again though.

Mosley is such a great sport though, he made it a great fight.

I was dissapointed that Larry Merchant wasnt there that night though

LOL... Why is his wife worried about him fighting a Puerto Rican?
Some bullshit because she's puerto rican and not disrespecting them. I think it's just a front cuz odh doesn't want to fight cotto. What type of bullshit is that? Could you imagine Mayweather not fighting black people or some shit? lol, or Bernard Hopkins not fighting Americans because his wife is American.

I thought it was a very close fight but I could see why Cotto won. He was hitting Mosely with the cleaner punches. It was a great fight though and Sugar Shane got heart. I was impressed with Cotto's speed.

A lot of shit talking on other boards about Cotto basically taking the last 3 rounds off; people comparing it to TITO v DLH and I agree to an extent, that dissapointed me, cuz I'm a huge Cotto fan. he was winded and was doing circles around the ring and wasting the clock, but one could argue that Cotto was still scoring and Popping shanes head back GOING backwards! His Jab was buzzing Shane (as Shane put it) it ALL NIGHT. and Shane "Dogged the fight"(kellerman) a little himself, as he was clinching a bit excessively and backpeddaled for a round or two.

also I'm gonna say that Cotto's speed was there, but Mosely's reflex's were not, kind of a mismatch.

As far as a fight with Oscar...noooooOOOo...1st Oscar does not deserve a fight with Cotto, Cotto beat the guy Oscar never could, Oscar's lost his last 3 fights (Mayweather, hopkins, and yes Sturm) and Oscar's wife still needs to be allowed to go to the store to buy Sofrito, LOL....and 2ndly as you guys pointed out the welterweight divison is too talent rich to waste time with Oscar "faded glory" DLH

I don't know what you're smoking. If ODH fought like he did against Mayweather he would get KO'd within 6 rounds. Cotto has 5 times the power of Mayweather (and ODH's legs did buckle on one short cross when Mayweather was against the ropes).

This would be a very embarrassing fight for ODH that would send him into retirement. ODH is a business man and a smart one at that. He will not fight Cotto. Ever. From here on out ODH will only fight people that don't have a lot of punching power.

You might have a legitimate argument if you said ODH 5-10 years ago could beat Cotto, but no way ODH today could beat him.

Don't be surprised but De La Hoya is looking for big fights. Yes he's a business man but he's looking for big fights to cement his legacy. I could see this fight taking place and who would be the underdog? Perfect fight for De La Hoya and big bucks at that. I could see this fight happening.

It's not going to happen. I promise you that (as if my promise means anything, lol).

I don't know who ODH will fight next, I know he wants to fight Ricky Hatton but he has to beat Floyd which wont happen. He definitely isn't going to fight any of the big names in the welterweight division (williams, cintron, MAYBE margarito) and there really are no big names in the jr. middleweight class either so his options are limited. The only way I can see him fighting cotto is if there is absolutely no one left for him to fight.

^Exactly... Cotto is a big name and if Oscar wants to cement his legacy now's the time. Fighting Cotto would draw huge numbers and a fight like that would bring out the best in Oscar. I could see this fight happening!

Plus Oscar was sitting ring side so he probably seen something in Cotto that he could expose. I think this would be a great fight with De La Hoya knocking Cotto out.

De La Hoya announced at the post-fight press conference that he would return to the ring on May 3, 2008 against an opponent to be named later. De La Hoya indicated that he has decided who he wants to fight (the buzz on press row is that it is Cotto) but would not reveal the name until after Mayweather-Hatton. "I've given [Golden Boy CEO] Richard Schaefer his marching orders," said De La Hoya. ...
