Uh oh... looks like Cotto is really going to get rocked and knocked out! 8oz gloves?

"Oscar spoke highly of his Goldenboy Promotions business partner and former conqueror Shane Mosley: “Sugar Shane Mosley is something special and I’m not just saying that because he works with me or because he beat me. Every boxing fan knows that when you watch a Sugar Shane Mosley fight, you get the best from him.” Oscar also suggested that New York’s allowance for eight ounce gloves would benefit Mosley: “Shane has been using 10 oz. gloves in Vegas. [For this fight] we’re fighting with eight ounce gloves and I can see a big old smile on [Shane’s] face,” to which Mosley grinned ear-to-ear on cue."

Cotto by KO. I read that ESPN article, but I don't see the similarities between these fighters other than age and nationality. Pea was known for his Defense. I think of Mayweather when I think of Pea. Still, I think Cotto has too much for Shane. It should be a good fight, but I look for Cotto to wear him down and knock him out by round 10.

Nah, here's my post from an older thread. I never came through with a straight up prediction, wasn't quite sure how that one was going to end. The fight went the way I said it would if in fact Cotto did win though.

"I haven't made my mind up on this fight yet. Cotto showed that he can be hurt (Ricardo Torres) by someone with less power and less speed than Zab. I feel Zab has a very good chance of coming out blazing and taking it straight to Cotto from the start and getting a stoppage in the first few rounds. But since that fight Cotto has moved up in weight and looks like a different man in there since he isn't so drained so maybe that was the problem. My guess is that if Zab wins it would be an early KO/TKO or if Cotto wins it would be because he weathered the storm and was able to break Zab down over the course of the fight and win by late stoppage or UD."

^^I don't remember, but didn't you pick Judah to beat Cotto by KO? If not, my mistake in advance. :chinese:
That may have been me with that prediction.... but anyway good call for Anahiem Rob...

But I am sure I am going to be right about this one. I can't see Sugar Shane losing to Cotto. My final prediction is that Shane will KO Cotto sometime during the fight. It won't go the distance for sho'. Y'all have a good weekend... and 2-06 watch them Bears get drug the Raiders!!

^^Is that Guzman-Soto fight the only televised fight that night or are they showing an undercard?
Yeah it's going to be on HBO. They will also show MARES VS. MARCHIANO but I'm not sure if Demetrius Hopkins will be televised or not.

Yeah right!!! Devin Hester beats the Raiders singlehandedly! 1 punt return TD, 1 kick off TD and 1 deep pass TD!!

Good analysis of the jab/cotto fight though! "

but anyway good call for Anahiem Rob...
Thanks..

To me those were the only ways of how that fight would go down for each guy just due to their styles, but this one's a different story. You know what Cotto's going to do, he's going to come straight forward, work the body , land some combinations up top and use his stamina and workrate to outpoint or finish off his opponent. Mosley on the other hand is going to use his a quick left jab, his superior speed, and counter Cotto's shots while working the body himself. To me this fight will go more than 6, with the cards leaning towards Mosley before he lands something hard, and finishing the show with some combinations up top. Regardless of how it goes down, it should be entertaining while it lasts.

Damn good fight....Props to Cotto, although I had the fight scored a draw I felt it could have went either way. Impressive wins by Margarito and Ortiz, they definitely made a statement tonight. I'm still pissed at the Santa Cruz-Casamayor decision though, that was a complete robbery.
