Even though the undercard turned out shitty, I still can't wait for this shit!

I was really hoping to get the Soto-Valero fight on this one, to put the icing on the cake.

^^First round is crazy talk!! I think maybe roach is saying that out of strategy (maybe Pac will do the opposite and BOX safely for the first few rounds, I dunno).

But Roach has gone from 12 round decision, 9th round KO, 4th round KO, 3rd round KO and now 1st round KO!

all those people who voted pacquiao ko what round do you think it will happen in? cotto is a bull and it took margarito 11 rounds with suspect wraps? i don't know if he can even do it but if i had to guess due to all the punches pac throws i'd say 7. just my opinion but i could be wrong and it might not even happen at all and just go all the way?

what do you think???

folks are in for a rude awakening if they think Manny is gonna destroy Cotto, if anything Cotto will catch Manny with one shot that Manny will not be able to recover from and the fight will end up getting stopped after a flurry of punches landed from Cotto

I personally believe Pac will stop him in the 9th or 10th round. It wont be from a single shot, it will be from an accumulation of punches throughout the fight and Cotto being completely discouraged after the midway point of the fight because he's not going to be able to land shit on Pac and Pac's speed will be too much for cotto. I think it will be either the ref stopping the fight, or his corner, or cotto himself quitting.

Keep in mind I still think there are a lot of different ways this fought can turn out, but it all depends on Pacquiao and how he fights. If he fights smart - bouncing in and out effectively and staying off the ropes - he'll win pretty easily. But if he decides to trade with cotto, which pacquiao sometimes does, it will be a long "fight of the year" type of fight that could go either way.

In the end I think pacquiao's speed both in his legs and his hands will be what wins him the fight. Also, pacquiao isn't a little man anymore, he's grown into his current welterweight body and he punches just as hard as the best of them at 147. If not harder. People underestimate pac and still see him as a little man. He's not little anymore and thats why Oscar & Ricky & Diaz got destroyed so badly, they underestimated not only his speed, but his power!

Oh and when I say he punches as hard or harder than the best at 147 I mean it. There have been a couple people that sparred with margarito and pac and they all say Pac is the harder puncher. The reason is because punching power isn't just about overall strength as it is as much as the technique, speed & timing.

Yeah, I actually think a TKO is more of a real possibility. Margarito isn't a very hard puncher, just relentless and persistent in his attack. Pure power isn't everything either, like 2-0 stated.

Where Manny's punches differ is that they come extremely fast and from weird angles...it isn't always the first or second punch that lands, but usually the 3rd, 4th, and 5th.

The punch you don't see coming is the one that has the harshest effects...as well as the punches that come so fast that you can't react fast enough. This is why I think Manny's punches will be so effective.

I'm thinking a late round TKO, but a decision is also very likely. The only people counting Cotto out have probably not been watching him fight very long. I've been watching the guys since around 2004 and he's a very technically sound fighter.

Both fighter's toughest fights of their career IMO, and these two guys are probably the two most exciting fighters today. Neither one is ever in a dull fight, and that's part of the reason why I can't wait for this shit, even though the undercard sucks fat ballsacks.

I don't mind the undercard all that much. Besides the JCC Jr. fight the other two are decent. Soto Karass vs. Gomez is likely to turn into a shootout and Santos/Foreman has a high possibility of being one of the most boring fights of 2009 but it's a fight that needs to happen if Santos wants to keep his title and why not put it on a card with an extremely hyped main event.
