Only reason I can think of is cuz Diaz will keep coming forward in sparring and throwing punches no matter what, plus his hand speed is kinda slow like margarito but heavy handed.
I think the perfect "Margarito-lite" in boxing is Angulo. He'd be ideal for sparring imo but I'm sure he's still broken from the James Kirkland beating he took.
Also I know Cotto has friends in the MMA world, I recall him sparring with Miguel Torres and mentioning fighting in the mma could be a possibility.

The fight is not cancelled, they are looking to find another venue ASAP from what I understand and I think they will be able to get it. My only concern is if it's in say, Texas, would Cotto back out? Because he was very adamant on having this in NY so he could have "home court advantage" with all the puerto ricans. Aint no puerto ricans in texas.

Cotto said yesterday if the fight is not in NY, he's pulling out. Which probably means he wants more money. Top Rank making a PPV fight before the fighter was medically cleared is a joke. and a black eye for boxing.
