Marquez did horrible against Floyd not just because of size, but most importantly because Marquez was forced to be the stalker, he constantly followed Floyd around the ring trying to apply pressure, while floyd just set up traps and countered him. That is not JMMs game at all. He's a counter-puncher by nature. He's at his best when the opponent comes to him and he is the one setting traps and counter punching. Pacquiao will come to him, all night long. That's where JMM shines. So it should be a competitive fight. Styles make fights. The most common saying in boxing yet so often forgotten.

Some will argue that at 147 Pacquiao is just too powerful for Marquez. While that may end up being true, his power at 147 hasn't been phenomenal, his last 3 fights have gone the distance (Clottey, Margarito & Mosley). Granted all three of those guys have solid chins, but it could also indicate that he's not quite as powerful at 147 as he was at say 140 or 135.

Against Mayweather he was way too small. Pac is still bigger, but he's not as big as PBF. Not to mention the style of PBF is to stay outside and counter, with his reach it was impossible for JMM to do anything. On the other hand, Pac will get inside and trade shots. I think it'll be a closer fight than you guys are thinking...we'll see though.

Marquez got knocked down and hurt by a 135lber in his last fight. Manny will wear Marquez down and knock him out later in the fight. In contrast Pacquiao only landed 157 punches on Marquez the last time they fought, while marquez landed 172.

The only thing I criticized him for was not making weight, they agreed on a 144 pound catchweight and Floyd refused to even try, instead paying Marquez $600,000 in penalties. I thought that was a bitch move on his part. But I never discredited his performance. If you know and understand boxing, you know most of the time it's about styles not size. As I already stated, Marquez did poorly for one he was out-classed but two floyd made JMM go to him and that is not JMM's game.

We will see fight night. I just don't see 38yr old Marquez beating Manny at 144lb sorry I just don't. Marquez was hurt and down by 135lb slower punching Katsidis. Manny is faster, bigger, and punches harder. Marquez will make a good fight out of it early, but will be knocked out late in the fight. Mark my words. And I want Marquez to win I just don't see it happening.

again how is it relevant that Marquez got knocked down? he's suffered a lot of knockdowns in his career, he always bounces back. Why couldn't floyd knock him out at 147 using that logic? He couldn't. He scored a flash down, but failed to finish him off.

That's how I see the pac-marquez III fight going. I think Pac will knock him down early, JMM will adjust like he always does and make it a fight. He did that 2 times now with Pac, that's what he does. Pacquiao was always stronger than JMM, always. He knocked him down 3 times in the first round the first time they fought for crying out loud. He was more explosive back then, imo.

The only way I see Pac knocking him out is if JMM changes his style and tries to be very aggressive, which I just don't see him doing. He knows pacquao, he knows his habits and his style. He's smart enough to know the best way to get to pac is to wait for him to make a mistake and capitalize on it.

Yes 18 days out was the last test for Mosley. Random testing with a 18-day cut-off window was offered to Manny to fight Mayweather on March 2010, and yes Manny turned it down to fight Cottley. Mayweather agreed to all the terms to make the fight happen on March 2010 and your god Manny walked away.
