yeah thats cool, i dont know much about boxing. whatever. i saw the fight. do u think marquez won?
I thought he won slightly as I said in the other thread. I thought it was extremely close, especially certain rounds and have no problem with any outcome of the fight. I don't think it was a robbery just a good, close fight like the other two.

I don't really care if people think Pacquiao won the fight that's on them if you think Pacquiao won more power to you, but he didn't win because he landed a measly 3 more punches a round.

pacman landed more power punches too though.
Power punches are counted as anything not a jab. If someone lands an arm punch left hook that has no power it's going to be counted as a power punch just like a crushing right hand that wobbles someone. That's exactly why you can't just look at this numbers especially in a tight fight and say ok he won because he landed 3 more a round.

^^Period!

I thought Marquez won a close fight too but I don't think it was a "robbery" though, too close of a fight to be called a "robbery".

Controversial? Yes, because a lot of people scored it a draw or had Marquez winning.
Robbery? No, it was too close of a fight.

Compubox is literally two guys with a clicker attached to a laptop who count the punches in real time (see picture below). It's something we should always take with a grain of salt, especially when there are flurries of punches thrown it's nearly impossible in real time to see exactly which ones land which ones miss.

A good example is Calzaghe vs Hopkins. Compubox had Calzaghe landing something like 208 punches total. I've seen a slow motion replay of the entire fight someone made with all the punches counted and Calzaghe landed something like a total of 40-60 punches or some bullshit like that. It's amazing how inaccurate compubox can be.

Now, that isn't to say pacquiao didn't land/throw more against Marquez, just saying.

If compubox really wants to have credibility they should have a live unofficial punch count during the fight, then within the next couple days they should re-watch the fight, with the luxury of watching on a TV and the ability to slow it down if need be, then release official numbers.

Lol, there was no way Calzaghe landed 200 punches against Bernard....

He only landed like one "effective" punch the whole fight. I still remember, it was a good left hand I think, straight down the middle, other than that, I don't remember him landing that many punches. What a joke.... 200 punches landed against Bernard Hopkins? Yeahhhh right....

yeah the HBO crew kept talking about how Calzaghe landed more punches on bernard than anyone in history who fought him I was thinking, "you've got to be kidding me!!"

They probably counted 8 landed punches in this exchange when in reality NONE landed!
