Hopefully it did over 1 million, if not then it was a failure. Pacman is supposed to be the biggest draw in boxing regardless if he's american or not, so don't start with the excuses about having dance partners and all that BS!

wow you're such a hater man!

Supposed to over 1 million or its a failure, are you crazy?

Ask yourself if floyd, or anyone in boxing, could generate over 1 million PPV buys against Joshua Clottey. Not even Oscar de la hoya could do that.

Further the fight didn't have a 24/7 or much promotion. I predicted it would do 750k, and if it's at that, or above, I think its a huge success, financially speaking, not too mention it sold 51,000 tickets making it the largest boxing event since 1993 and the top 3 in the past 50 years and the all time biggest in american history for two non-american fighters.

To call that a failure is haterism, period.

Now, the fight card wasn't as exciting as it should/could have been (thanks to Clottey & a poor undercard), so in that sense you could say it failed to deliver, but again, financially speaking it was a very big success.

Sold 51,000 tickets?

I guess the new stadium didn't have anything to do with it selling over 50,000 tickets huh....

Without much promotion?

They used Mayweather's name (talking about how they're going to knock him out and blah, blah, blah) and Jerry Jones to help promote the fight. And if you're the biggest draw in boxing, how much promotion do you need?

And ask yourself why didn't they have a 24/7 if Pacman is such a big draw? LMFAO

If Oscar or Floyd fought Clottey they would do over a million, in my opinion!

And like you told me (watch the fight first) why don't you let them release the pay per view numbers first before you (financially) call it a very big success.

To call this fight a failure "IF" it didn't do over 1 million buys, is the truth (not haterism). Take it how you want to.

Stevie Forbes was a bigger name than Clottey by a long shot and that shit was on regular TV.

Interesting to note that was also in a stadium and that didn't do anything near 50,000 people.

Oscar de la hoya also did less than 1 million buys against Ricardo Mayorga (and THIS was oscar's big come back fight), 360,000 against Felix Sturm, less than 1 million buys against Shane Mosley in the rematch, 350,000 buys against Yory Boy Campas, less than 1 million against Fernando Vargas, 580,000 against Shane Mosley 1, 570,000 against Quartey, 525,000 against Julio Cesar Chavez II, 560,000 against Camacho, etc. All those names are bigger than Clottey.

In fact, the ONLY times Oscar did more than 1 million buys were against Floyd Mayweather, Felix Trinidad and Bernard Hopkins, 3 of the biggest names in all of boxing in the past 15 years.

So Tony, you are retarded, once again proven by my facts, not opinions.

Tony, if you honestly believe people went to the PACQUIAO fight because of the stadium then I know, for a fact, I am truly dealing with a complete retard here.

Then why did they have the fight at Dallas' new stadium? Don't sit here and act like all 50,000 just flocked to the stadium to see PACQUIAO fight. You act like the atmosphere had nothing to do with the fight selling 50,000+. Yes the new stadium had something do to with all those tickets being sold.

Because that was the plan for Floyd vs Pacquiao. The fight fell through and bob arum & Jerry Jones were cool, said lets have the fight here.

Don't sit here and act like all 50,000 just flocked to the stadium to see PACQUIAO fight.
Then WHY did they go tony? To stare at the wall and the architecture of the building???

Pacquiao sold those tickets virtually alone man, that crowd was like 98% Pac fans.

You act like the atmosphere had nothing to do with the fight selling 50,000+. Yes the new stadium had something do to with all those tickets being sold.
Have a chess match at Cowboys stadium and see if it can bring in 51,000 people.

I like how you skipped over all my points about Oscar de la hoya and the PPV's, I guess you must agree I'm right.

Seriously, there is no convincing Tony that Floyd Mayweather Jr isn't Ghandi, Allah, Jesus, God, Jah, Bruce Lee, and Chuck Norris all rolled into one.

Its pointless.

But if those early reports are true...considering the gate revenue, and the weak undercard, Top Rank made a killing with this event. Even though it didn't live up to the hype.

We're not even talking about Mayweather right now so why are you bring him up?

Like I said, unbiased fight fans are pissed and they feel ripped off. At least those who attended and see the fight live got to see Dallas' new beautiful stadium (which was used to help promote the fight).

Look man. 2-0 pretty much owned you on this topic.

Unbiased fight fans? Are you talking about those stupid cut & paste comments you posted? Really, unbiased fight fans say things like "Punkquiao"? LMAO. C'mon bruh...some fights are great, and some suck.

I'm not gonna lie, I wasn't all too thrilled about this fight, but the fact is that you DON'T speak for anyone except for yourself. Stop trying to represent a group of people who don't exist.

Do you honestly think that the Clottey fight is going to stop anyone from buying Manny Pacquiao's next PPV?

FUCK NO. That was the first dull fight I think I've ever seen him in, and it wasn't even his fault.
