so any recent news from Mayweathers camp about a possible fight ?
http://boxing.fanhouse.com/2010/11/15/bob-arum-still-trying-to-make-floyd-mayweather-manny-pacquiao/

If the shit is as black and white as Arum has put it in the article, you'll see Floyd for what he is which is either A.) A man who is willing to put up his record and claims to be the best PFP fighter on the line for the biggest fight of his career or B.) A good champion, an incredible technician and boxer who didn't face Manny Pacquiao.

floyd needs to just retire if he doesn't say yes. I mean really, who else can he fight? andre berto? that's about it as to who's left at 147. I suppose he could fight paul williams/martinez winner at 154 but that really lacks name quality. pacquiao pretty much cleaned house, no one left.

Teddy Atlas already broke it down.... everyone knows that Floyd is firm on his Olympic drug testing demands. In Floyd's mind, Pacquiao is on PED's. The only way to assure himself that Pacquiao is not, is to have him go through the toughest drug testing there is and that's random Olympic style drug testing with no cut off.

If Manny says "yes" like he has claimed to have done, then I think they'll fight early next year if Mayweather doesn't have to do jail time for hittin' his baby momma. And that's a big if....

Manny vs Floyd is the fight everyone wants to see, both fighters know it and I think they'll do what they can to make it happen.

How many fighters did Floyd add the drug testing stipulation to? The only guy I can recall is Mosley and that was AFTER the Pacquiao fight collapsed. No other person said the guy was on PED's, or even hinted at it, yet Floyd and Floyd Sr pull this shit from their asses and pass it off as if it is gospel.

On the real Floyd is doing to Manny what Ray did to Marvin. Duck and dodge for a bit and then come up with all these stipulations to turn the fight in his favor.

My favorite quote from the 24/7 series:

"Fighting Pacquiao is like fighting 3 guys at the same time" - Margarito's trainer

note- I don't think that was his exact words but you get the point.

That's probably true, but there were times when Margarito hit Manny with some pretty good (clean and strong) shots. He took some shots a couple of times when Margarito had him against the ropes, and I kept yelling for him to get off the ropes. Watching fights with my peeps, especially at my brothers house is nothing but good times.

hehe, but it's in reverse as the bigger guy is ducking the smaller guy! it would be true if hagler was floyd and pacquiao was leonard. Shit is comedy. Leonard was a welterewight and Hagler was the monster middleweight that couldn't be beat. leonard came out of 3 year retirement and went up 2 weight classes and fought hagler. Floyd is the naturally bigger guy and retires to avoid the lightweight!

6th round pacquiao was hurt from body shots on the ropes, he was in trouble for a moment. I think that did some damage but pac is impressive, threw like 5-7 punch combos to get out of it.

Yep, and by doing that he showed he was able to take a punch and keep his wits, which is something many boxers fail to do.

While Floyd is a great counter puncher, I don't think he's fought a puncher that throws those type of combos from those angles. If they fought, Manny wouldn't get off 1,000 punches, but the pressure would get to Floyd.

Comrade, excluding the Mosley fight, which fight would you say was Floyds best and which fighter do you think gave him the most trouble?

floyd's best win was diego corrales about 10 years ago. I wish he still fought like that. This new floyd, he just doesn't take any chances at all and I think that actually could hurt him in a fight with pac, whereas if he fought like he used to (more aggressive) he probably would beat pac easier.

Jose Castillo the first fight, he beat floyd mayeather. Floyd got the decision of course but most people feel floyd lost that fight including myself. Castillo applied a ton of pressure and floyd simply couldn't deal with it and literally was running most of the fight.

In regards to the Diego Corrales fight I'm going to have to dig that one up again. Concerning the Jose Castillo fight, I agree 100%. In fact, I think deep down...I mean really really deep down...Floyd knows he lost that fight.

Floyd is convinced his dumps smell like cherries.
The guy is full of himself, to the core.

He's the type of person that tells himself a lie over and over again until he believes it himself.

I'm sure he thinks he won the first fight.
If you argued he lost he would just say "so I won the second one" or "so what I have money".

He's just a poor example of a human being.

FUCK YOU
-Antonio Margarito congratulated Manny Pacquiao from his hospital bed in Dallas, calling him the best fighter in the world.

Margarito, who is scheduled to undergo surgery Tuesday for a fractured right orbital bone, issued a statement thanking his fans for supporting him in his lopsided loss to Pacquiao at Cowboys Stadium.

"I gave it all I had, but unfortunately I was not able to get the victory over the best fighter in the world today," Margarito said. "As I said before the fight I was never going to quit and tried to win this fight to the very last minute"

Margarito lasted all 12 rounds in the loss, but took such a beating that both eyes were swollen shut and his face was a bloody mess. He has been hospitalized since, with doctors waiting until the swelling to go down to perform the surgery.

Margarito said he planned to fly to Los Angeles on Wednesday, then head home to Tijuana.

Pacquiao, meanwhile, was scheduled to perform in a concert Tuesday night at Lake Tahoe, then fly home to his native Philippines.

ahahaha at pacman having a concert in lake tahoe dude is comedy

I think after Castillo Floyd stopped challenging himself. I think up till that point he was willing to fight anyone, anytime, to prove he was the best, to prove he could beat them. After that, I think he probably started looking at things a little different, maybe looking at easier paths and then only the big money fights.

Recently, the mosley fight was a very good win, and that was a bit of a challenge and he deserves credit for it, but still under the circumstances it sort of felt like he had to take the fight rather than he wanted the fight. Nonetheless a great win for him. But really since Castillo, not too many big challenges - Gatti, Baldimor, Judah, Oscar, Hatton...Solid wins, but missing the tough opponents the Cotto's, Margarito's, Clottey's, etc. and there always was an excuse not to fight someone not enough money, they lost X amount of times, etc etc etc.
