jordan made a shitload more money from marketing, than he ever made off playing ball. that's why it's not really a pay cut. if lebron's brand got this big while in cleveland, it can only get bigger in miami.

the one hour special was all about his ego you dumbshit.
woah woah... now I'm a dumb shit?

no need for the name calling you fucking faggot

Lebron after a couple years will understand that he made a big mistake. If he does win a ring it wont be at the same status as it would if he did it by himself. There's a reason why your called the king and have a big ass "chosen one" on your back. So now you need 2 super stars to help you do it and stab your hometown fans in the back? Doesn't he have a "loyalty" tat? Maybe his next move should be covering that up.

I like how stuart scott said "Did MJ go to the Pistons? No, jordan beat the Pistons."

If they dont even make it to the finals next season it will be the biggest fail ever. Imagine if Lebron gets hurt and is the next Grant Hill, that would be pretty amusing also

I disagree with this.
However if he doesnt win it the following season, people are gonna start doubting his greatness.
Lets give him a season to get adjusted to the system. i also think Pat Riley should coach.

Late Thursday night, Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert issued the following statement on LeBron James' departure from the franchise.

Dear Cleveland, all of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers supporters wherever you may be tonight;

Share As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

This was announced with a several-day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.

Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.

The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.

There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.

You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

You have given so much and deserve so much more.

In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight: "I personally guarantee that the Cleveland Cavaliers will win an NBA Championship before the self-titled former 'king' wins one."

You can take it to the bank.

If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.

Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.

Sorry, but that's simply not how it works.

This shocking act of disloyalty from our homegrown "chosen one" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow up to become.

But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio.

The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.

Just watch.

Sleep well, Cleveland. Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day...

I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:

DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue...

Dan Gilbert

different story. he didnt leave the best team in his conference. he left a team that literally had no chance especially with the competition in the west. cleveland was a very different team than minnesota and not only that minnesota got a wealth of talent in a trade. cleveland got jack. youre comparing apples to oranges.

Yea but there is a reason why your called the king, chosen one and the one man army. Do you get it? I guess not. Sick and tired of niggaz always bringing that "but Jordan had this and Kobe had that" James was all hyped up to be the one man wrecking crew and he certainly did not live up to the hype. Thats the point I'm trying to get across.

lol @ Cavs' owner's e-mail. You couldn't win one with LeBron there, what makes you think you can win one without him?

not only that meta, twolves fans werent bitter about it, they felt he deserved the championship and knew he wasnt going to get it there. cleveland is on the brink. and now thats just what miami is. i wouldnt have left clevleland unless it was money in the bank. id hardly call what theyve got at the time as a lock.
