at this point it seems like Kutt is trying as hard as possible to stray away from the "strange" sound as possible. i dont personally think thats a good idea because its just gonna make him lose the fans that he already has.

i could be completely wrong though
id say your just completely wrong:ermm:

Awful. Glad I saved my money on this one. In my opinion, Kutt has been on a downward spiral since Feature Presentation.
This. Although, I dont feel its a downward spiral. The music is still good but not BLEVE, Flamez or Feature good.

why is that?

I think releasing a project on Strange Music with no Tech and no Krizz is definitely trying to stray away from the strange sound.
Maybe hes tryin to make his own name rather than ridin coattails?

I'm sure you are 100% correct.

well, considering that Kutty has been around since near the begining, wouldnt you say he is part of the strange sound?
Strange has a unique sound, i dont feel like Kutt makes music with that sound most of the time. Neither does Big Scoob, Jay Rock and S&S also didnt make that kind of music

I think the one thing that makes Strange's sound unique is the producers they work with, and the engineers. On production you really do hear a deep Midwest vibe on a lot of tracks and that's what artists are known for in this area. It's kind of a mix of Bay Area/South/East all in one. If you grow up around here, it's hard to not be influenced by all kinds of different genre's of music... and the different flavors of hip-hop.

Soooo.... three fifths (or half, counting S&S as a group instead of two members) of the 'original roster' doesn't/didn't make "Strange's sound?"

not what i would consider "strange sound". just my opinion though. i feel like you could easily take most of the music made by kutt, scoob and s&s and release it from some random gangsta rap label and it would fit. couldnt do that with Tech or Krizz.

you could take krizz and put him on any generic label and he would fit.

I don't really think there's very much left in identifying where a beat comes from these days. Most of it is just house music. The technology has advanced to the point that people have access to music from all over the place. You're not going to just hear East Coast shit in NY anymore, where ten or so years ago all you'd really hear is Big, J, DMX, Ja, Blige... etc.

I've never even put an ounce of thought into it, but anything past Anghellic, and I couldn't say this way or that which region of the country the beats come from. Especially since on AP a lot of his shit was from Europe, which was crushing on the techno/industrial scene at the time.

Nobody was rapping over a beat like AP...

And that's why I liked Tech in the first place. There was no way to label it, really. I mean, Tech is for people who like DOPE MUSIC. Simple as that. If you don't like even one song from Tech, I don't think I have much in common with you... lol.

I think he's not only perfect for Strange musically, but I mean... The guy was kind of the sound of Strange just as much as Tech was for years. I know people are stupid when they talk about Tech being a group, but if you seen a certain video or listened to a few certain songs, I could see where you could get that impression.

With that being said... I think Kali could do whatever he wanted, wherever he wanted, given the opportunity. The guy could come out with a straight R&B album if he wanted to, and I'm sure it would be great to R&B fans. It wouldn't be for me, but I bet it would be at least above average.. And I could say that for every genre of music with Kali. Dude did Little Pills and sounded awesome.

Who else do you know who can rap, sing R&B, and then sing a rock song and make every one sound dope?

I might not want to hear him sing the same fucking chorus on every damn Tech song all the time, but the dude is kind of the shit no matter which way you look at it.
