The point everybody is missing is she put a video on YouTube like every other rapper in the world. Just more people liked it. It is documented via YouTube views and radio station request. If you can show me any other artist that in one week got a million views, got 25 different stations playing their record including the biggest stations on the west coast
I'm not here to hate or say anything negative about the chick or her music, but youtube VIEWS don't mean anything. "Gucci Gucci" has 2,389,857 views and only 15,173 documented likes. According to my calculations, that means not even 1% of the viewers clicked "Like". If somebody tells me, "Hey, go listen to this crap", I go and listen to it. If I can't believe what I'm hearing, I pass it on to 200 more people...and I'm sure they do the same. Point is, 2 Million views doesn't mean 2 million fans.

William Hung's "She Bangs" audition has over 1 Million hits, he was all over the radio, doing performances, and he sold 223,000 records...does that mean he's dope? No. It means somebody was smart enough to capitalize on unbelievable crap. Rebecca Black has over 161 MILLION views and over 3 Million dislikes...and they disabled comments because of the shit people were talking about her.

Kreayshawn's success remains to be seen. I hope she succeeds 'cause I don't wish failure on anybody...but right now it's a toss-up. Youtube hits mean nothing.

In any case, good luck to you and Kreayshawn.

I don't make the rules breh, I just see em from a distance.

Aint anyone trying to hear a 45 year old man on the mic talkin about his struggles.

Young people listen to rap music, thus they wanna relate.

They cannot relate to their grandpa's hustle, or whatever.
I am only telling you what I see, I am an outsider, but smart enough to know what I see... & what I see is this game is for a young person. I know you know what I am saying.

ya, you, I, other folks from our era, they can relate to that older crowd, but its the kids that dont wanna hear it.

its the kids who buy music.

its the kids who are music this & music that... we get the leftovers.

just like when rap came out, older folks were not trying to hear it, we are getting older & just dont wanna hear some skinny jeans rockin, vans sportin, mohawk frontin' rap music.
E 40 and $hort are both around 45 give or take Jay Z and Dr. Dre are up there too. 45 year olds just dnt wanna make bubble gum Hip "POP" music kids like

I dunno man. The way I see it in this day and age youtube views mean everything. Obviously it got her noticed by the majors. What about those asian kids that lip sung that backstreet boys song and got a million views? One day they regular college kids, the next day they got Pepsi endorsements and they shootin all kinds of commercials and shit gettin paid. But back to the music tip it seems like your youtube views these days probably hold more weight than almost anything in the eyes of the majors. It don't matter if you think it's wack or if it's dope, it's still got your's and 2 million other's attention.

He said "more people liked it", and Youtube proves it...and I'm just saying that's not true. Yes, Youtube hits can get you a LOT of shit...but it doesn't mean the people watching it LIKE it.

Most videos don't have nearly as many "likes" as views. The sold out show 2 weeks after the video dropped is what proves people DO like it.

Where was the show? I eliminated any and all room at a show and I've never released a video or been on the radio.

The majority of the people who tuned in to Howard Stern in the 90's didn't like him...they just wanted to hear what he was going to say next.

Record sales will PROVE her success to attract an audience. If she sells out shows across the country, that will prove it as well.

She went from opening for other artists to being the only billed act.
So? You telling me she packed the place on her own? Wasn't Mistah FAB performing that night, too?

1. I'm willing to bet this bar, being in San Francisco, holds no more than 300 people (if that). I watched the video, and the stage was smaller than my bed. Also, you could probably pick out of the crowd each person who was screaming their head off. It wasn't one big collaborative cheering.

2. I'm willing to bet Mistah FAB had some of his fans there.

3. There was a line for pre-sale tickets and a line for people paying at the door. This means there's a good possibility that some people just showed up for a night out, and not necessarily to see Kreayshan perform.

Like I said, I'm not here to take anything away from her...I'm just presenting facts. If she sells out shows across the country, she has a solid fan base. It remains to be seen. You can't gauge a fanbase on Youtube views and a show at a small bar in her hometown.

You act like the video has made no impact, it turned her from opening act to headliner, regardless of the location. She wasn't doing that prior. FAB did not perform at that venue on the date and I can find any evidence of him performing on the 27th, which even if he did, would be ridiculous to think that made a difference on her ticket sales.

Also it pre-sold out prior to the 27th.

And one more thing...folks should stop throwing the word "hater" around. This is business...and in business you have satisfied consumers, and dissatisfied consumers. If I buy a coffee maker and I think it sucks, and I write a review on the company's website...is the CEO going to call me a hater? Or is he going to find out how to satisfy the people who don't like his product? The same goes for any other products on the market yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

I don't like country music, but I know a lot of people who do. Do they call me a hater because my musical taste differs from theirs? No. If you post a video or a song for people to check out, expect negative feedback and be happy for the positive. If you don't want to hear negative feedback, stop posting music and get a job as an accountant.
