iron man wasnt that great, shit was borin at times, i could already tell that bald guy was the villian halfway thru the flick, and the last fight was more of iron man gettin his ass beat, say what you want bout x-men, those movies were actually worth the price sittin thru.

but then again i rather sit thru iron man 2 then any spidey or hulk sequel
Have you ever read an Iron Man Comic book?

:ermm:

This movie was awesome. I have to admit, Jon Favreau did a very good job directing this and the writing was great. Robert Downey Jr. did a killer job, as awlays, with the dialogue. IU was sceptical at first, but he was the man for the part, no doubt.

From Wikipedia:

"In August 2006, it was revealed by a stock market report that The Avengers was listed under Marvel films in development. It was later stated that Zak Penn, writer of the scripts for X2, X-Men: The Last Stand, and Elektra was to write the movie's script.[25]

Iron Man director Jon Favreau said he would like to direct a film adaptation of The Avengers. This would be a crossover to fictional universes in other upcoming Marvel films such as The Incredible Hulk, Thor and Captain America. He also explained that Marvel has told him that "they're pretty clear on wanting to do it with the actors who’ve established the roles or to not do it at all." He continued, "I think it’s a good idea if you use the characters established in the other franchises that then come together for an event." [26]

In a report to shareholders on May 5, 2008, Marvel Entertainment announced the release dates for two planned Avenger movies. The First Avenger: Captain America (working title) is schedule for May 6, 2011, followed by the The Avengers scheduled for July 2011 [citation needed].

The Avengers film was first set up in the 2008 Iron Man film, when Nick Fury (played by Samuel L. Jackson) appears in a post credits scene of the movie and speaks with Tony Stark about the "Avenger Initiative.""

Also, there will be at LEAST two more Iron Man films.

BTW, here are the IMDB pages for Thor and Captain America:

I guess I could think of even more lame characters to make movies of, but Antman and Thor are towards the top of the list with the likes of Hawk Man and Aqua Man. Too bad they're going to squander such success. But someone thought Tin Tin would be cool so go figure.

Fav directing the Avengers movie would be a good look though. He did a real good job with this.

They came out before this movie, thus serving their time as classics in his mind. God forbid people go along with the fact that this movie far surpasses any of the three aforementioned films.

I also think in some ways that if you HADNT read the comics, to some, they just go by STRICTLY what the movie portrayed.

I casually read comic books back in the day and to be honest, no LITTLE about the background of these characters. That being the case, as solely a MOVIE, the X-Men series was fun to watch. The Spider-man movies were ALRIGHT in my mind, but I did enjoye the last one alot.

With that being said, I liked Iron Man as a MOVIE, period. I know a bit about Starks and Iron Man, but not enough to point anything in the movie and sa, "what? I cant beleive they changed that!" It was witty, well written dialogue wise, funny, action packed, and the CGI was top notch.

If you're a comic book fan, you'd also be proud of the many allusions they used in the film to possibly lead into the next film. Example: The ten rings; needing a second suit; Nick Fury.

The thing is, I can guarntee about 90% of the Siccness knows little about any of the origins of these comic book movies...including myself.

I guess thats WHy I liked The Hulk. I know ENOUGH of it, but not enough to hate it.

That's true. And that's the exact reason I didn't like Spider-Man 3 and Parker's emo turn in that film. There's a difference between being dark and being emo. They didn't find that fine line.
