Religion in a society is like a gun in a maniac's hand. There was a time when religion served a good purpose, but those days are long gone. Religion has had more of a destructive effect on society than a constructive effect. And let's not act like almost all hatred in the world isn't directly or indirectly tied into a person's religious beliefs. Ask most people in America why they hate certain types of people or why they resent those people's actions, their explanation will almost always start with: "Because the bible said......."

its not religions fault, just like it is not the guns fault that they now have a bad wrap..it just spiraled out of hand and its easier to blame ONE thing, the origin..the idea..then to point the blame at a human being because lord knows we are all perfect..
