I THINK WHAT THE REAL PROBLEM IS THAT THE PEOPLE AGAINST THIS ARE THE PEOPLE THAT THINKS AMERICANS ARE OVER CONCERNED ABOUT JOBS & THE ECONOMY BUT ITS MORE THAN THAT LIKE VOTES, LOOK AT THE DRUG CARTELS THAT CAN SPILL INTO AMERICA, MEXICANS CAN COMMIT A CRIME & GO BACK TO MEXICO LIKE THEY NEVER DID ANYTHING & NOT HAVE A TRACE IN AMERICA. BY LIVING IN SAN DIEGO IM CONCERNED, GET LEGAL DOCUMENTATION AND EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE

The cartels are only a problem because they let become one... "The War On Drugs" bullshit was taken to heart, and they really need to analyze if it's really helping us, or hurting us... How much money do we spend on the State and Federal level, to combat something that people will always do? That's why I personally think they should legalize all drugs, and take another approach... because it would stop a lot of the cartel violence...

right.....your post doesn't hold any kind of weight...

and that's why I don't believe you at all..
His post does hold weight. I used to see people at Kaiser all the time...the majority of them did not have U.S. documentation...not even a fuckin' ID card. IF they had ID, it was more often than not a Mexican ID (Or Vietnamese). Yet, they either carried Medi-Cal cards or had us bill them...and that bill would never get paid (by them).

are you willing to work in a field for 14 hours making 9-12 a hour under crazy weather?

you don't even know how much it would hurt the U.S. if they were to get rid of many of those immigrants that work out in fields and so on...

that's one of the many reasons why the U.S. hasn't done shit about it....because they know it would cause a big problem in the agricultural field..
this is the main argument I always see that is in support of illegal immigration... but let me tell you why it's not logical...

I do agree that many (if not most) US citizens would not be willing to work in the field under these conditions without being fairly compensated... I believe they would be willing to do this type of work under these types of conditions if they were fairly compensated

the problem is illegal immigrants come in, knowing they are not supposed to be working in this country, they're willing to take any job they can get, and they're willing to work at a lower price than most US citizens are

by doing this they drive down wages... and yes... take jobs away from American... I said it...

if we stopped illegal immigration farmers would be forced to hire US citizens to work in the fields... these citizens would demand to be fairly compensated with higher wages, and/or a less demanding schedule (8 or hour shifts rather than 14 hour shifts, etc...) maybe the farmers paying out these wages would have to take a profit margin loss... but oh well...

I don't see anything wrong with driving up wages and forcing employers to fairly compensate employees, especially for that type of physically demanding labor intensive work

and I know the argument some people will bring is... well, employers should just stop hiring illegals.. of course they should, but let's be realistic here... if they can get an illegal immigrant to do a job for a portion of the price a US citizen would do it for... what do you expect em to do?

and yes, I've seen people personally affected by illegal immigrants in the Unites States

a close friend of my Dad is in the tree business... trimming and cutting down trees

he used to make very good money doing that work... since more and more illegal immigrants have came into California, they started getting into the same work, and doing it for a lot cheaper than the market typically demands... this drives down prices people are willing to pay... at this point in time my dad's friend has a mortgage, car notes, kids, etc... and he can't afford to keep up...

and yes, it's not fair when people don't have to pay income taxes as well

I know illegal immigrants are just looking for a better life... I've seen the poverty in Mexico... it fucking sucks... but the quality of life of people in our country shouldn't go down because of it

I'm all for people immigrating to this country... but they should do it legally

I don't know how difficult the citizenship process is... maybe they should make it easier, but illegal immigration will and has caused problems in this country

How about improving the general living conditions in Mexico and by that slow down the constant flow of illegal immigration? It's not like all these people want to leave their families, because they rather work shitty jobs under severe conditions in a country filled with people who hate their guts.

How about building up a strong, competitive economy in Mexico, with US help, to create jobs in their own country, and not only rely on drug production/trafficking as their only national cash crops. It seems like a vicious circle to me, because the huge demand for drugs in America is one of the reasons why Mexico is in such a corrupted and violent state to begin with.

If Mexicans were able to put as much effort into building their own functioning and legal economy (providing a humane standard of living) as they put into drug trafficking (which they seem to be real good at), illegal immigration would be no issue anymore, because Mexicans would want to stay and work in Mexico.

The USA uses the drug cartels to push their drugs. What you are describing is the most sensible solution, but won't be implemented for the reason I stated.

lol@Sav'd out not knowing any black person that buys cocaine.....that made me LuLz...

Sav'd .....ask those crack dealers where do they get their cocaine from though...

Sydal ...in order to have all those benefits from the Gov...you need a state issued ID, when I had kaiser, they would always ask me for my CA DL and one time I didn't have it..they wouldn't accept my kaiser card because I didn't have my ID on me....

Funny how the US is involved in so many conflicts all over the world (which don't even concern them, for the most part), but at the same time they can't or don't want to take care of issues which have a direct effect on their citizens/border! Seems like your government wants to keep the drugs flowing, the immigrants illegal, and the masses apathetic. Otherwise i don't see how the most powerful nation in the world couldn't have helped a neighbor on his feet and eventually improved their own situation in the process. Living next to a hegemon state sucks, i guess.
