And you say THATS newbie friendly??? lol i'd hate to see a game that isn't newbie friendly then.. You gotta do 4 different thing's to actually get the training mode into training mode?
No, these things are OPTIONS for those who need as much hand holding as possible. It's no different then the options to make the dummy/punching bag block every single move.

Plus blockbuster games dont come with manuals.
Most games have a manual inside the actual game. It's called, training mode, tutorial, etc. SF 4 has a very good one (shows you how to do all the moves, which ones have guard break abilities, etc.)

^^^It's mostly muscle memory.

...but pretty much if you have an IQ over 50 you can learn them. I mean ummm maybe that's stretching it, monkey's can memorize patterns right? So like an IQ over 10?

It seems to be getting high 8's, low 9's and 4 out of 5's witht he various reviews I've seen so far. So has anyone played the game?
I plan to pick my copy up in just over an hour. Will post my thoughts later tonight. Although considering I loved the Arcade version I can't imagine my opinion changing.

game is so sick.

sooo beautiful as well.

only thing is im used to playing an okizeme based fighter and that was one of the major changes they did away with from guilty gear. it's a trip to keep getting caught with OTG combos because i'm not used to ground teching.

get this and then get fight night next time you're looking for a game. you can't go wrong with either but fight night's price will drop like it always does and this price because it's a limited edition will most likely increase.

BTW I watched some of the DVD

the tips on it are actually very useful, stuff that usually takes a long time playing to learn the hard way. it also walks you through some very basic combos (KODOGG)

includes some american match vids too.

it's so odd to hear a fighting game in english. just like sf4 i switched it back so i can't understand a word they say.

im glad i decided to main rachel, the more i use her, the more i enjoy it. she also seems to be the only (of those i tried) very unmasher friendly character. going to steer newbies away from playing her xD

Keep in mind that this is if you have a good amount of experience with fighting games. I'm sure if you're new then a lot of the stuff with the game will seem like a huge wall impossible to climb. (at first)

Nothing really other than learning your character and how to use them properly. Learning how to play against others. Everything is pretty standard but also very polished. Throwing is new because you can combo into and out of your throws. I've been waiting to see some throw infinite loops pop up but none have. I think the biggest challenge is the the teching system. There mandatory tech points are huge from when you can actually tech. wich really works against you, you can avoid some tech setups but on the other hand if you don't tech it won't scale the damage. Throw start up in this game is 7 frames which isn't a lot but compared to guilty gear's 0 frame start up it makes a difference.

Arcade mode is awesome but really not that challenging, I took out v-13 the first time I reached her with like 80+% health. I don't have online yet to try out those parts of the game. Didn't bother with much other than training mode and arcade really. Theres tons of options for everything but I haven't dug that deep yet.

Game is pretty dope, I had a bitch of a time beating Hakumen for some reason, dude does some damage but V-13 was pretty easy for a boss. I used Bang Shishigami, dude is hilarious talking all types of shit to everyone. It doesn't seem like there is many crazy button combos though.

I have a question for anyone who's played the game, and I don't know if the question is going to make sense, so glance over it a few times before you answer. This game is a 2d fighter, but does it play like a 2d fighter (street fighter) or does it play like a 2D side scroller, beat em up or action game? I don't mean in the sense that you go from side to side and stage to stage beating up multiple enemies, I'm talking about in how you input moves and how different combinations can yield different results (think God of War or DMC and how you do different combos.)
