You already said you only played the game for an hour, so just admit the problem lies with you. My nephews were able to pick the game up and play it, and they aren't even into fighters all like that. The training mode is valuable and there are a lot of things you can learn by using it. The training mode obviously didn't teach you anything because you thought the game relied on four buttons and didn't know the game shows you which buttons to press. Finally, a tutorial dvd is not a prerequisite or indication that the game is new-comer friendly. In fact, a tutotial dvd just may hint that the game has a steep learning curve and isn't user friendly.

In closing, I don't get how you claim to eb able to play MVC yet you can't play SF4. If you strip MVC down to it's basics it's STILL "SF" and those mechanics can be applied to the majority, if not all Capcom fighting games.
In closing i dont get why you gotta anaylze my whole fucking post like a little knit picking bitch.. I'm too tired to explain myself any further to you.. i'm just giving my opinions, get over it.

If i'm gonna put 90hours into a character it's gonna take a lot of determination so most likley the first character i pick will be pretty much the only one i'll pick.. Gotta watch some more gameplay video's and read up a little bit more on it before i make my choice tho.

http://dustloop.com/forums/index.php

You won't be able to find more information (or vids) any other place on the web than there. In fact most of the tutorial footage on the DVD comes from players on Dustloop

I post there too. Mostly in the I-No and Nor Cal Match Finder sections.

I'm doing it because it's a very contradictory post, don't take it personal buddy. Be happy that you can play games, pursue your school goals and do whatever it is you do. Yes, you gave your opinions, I gave mine, now get over it.

I'm telling you.. I'am a new comer.. And that game is not new-comer friendly.. Did you ever try the training mode? It didn't teach me shit.. Did SF4 come with a tutorial DVD? No it didn't.. Every person i talk to that's new to fighting games and has picked up SF4 is always lost with it and ends up button mashing.. Shit, i'am not even that much of a "new comer" and that shit was still way too confuseing and unexplanatory.
Well you should proably just quit playing fighting games then. What fun is a game if it is hella easy teh first time you play it? The whole point of a game like SF is that it actually takes skill to be good at.

Kind of. US & Japanese versions will work on both US & Japanese consoles but neither will work on European (PAL) Consoles.
So i copped this shit over here in Japan (the Japanese version) and on the back is says NTSC J... but it will work on my US 360, right?? I am a bit worried that it won't, but I took your word for it and copped anyway. I also played it in the arcade today an it looks fuckin clean.

Naw i like fighting games.. But i like games that actually teach you how to play in the training mode and actually tell you what buttons to push to pull of a characters combo.

I wasn't a big fan of SF so i don't know all the moves from the previous ones like everyone else does.. So i need a training mode that's actually gonna teach me something like that, not one that just lets me hit somebody and dosnt show u how to do shit.

I hope BlazBlue has something like that.. The tutorial DvD sound's like something i was lookin for for SF4.

Street Fighter shows you what to do. The buttons to press are color coded, and if you go to challange mode, you are REQUIRED to pull off the combos they tell you to do or you don't progress. It's all there, you simply didn't put enough time in the game to figure it out.

That shits color coded? I saw was punching symbols and kicking symbols and i knew there was a high kick low kick so pretty much it was a guessing game for me.. I personnaly jus didn't like how it was set-up.. ANd it may require me to pull of combo's, but if i can't read how to do so then i'm petty much stuck doing nothing..

The game jus' wasn't for me.. It seemed like it was way too catered around older players.

In another post I already told you it was color coded, did you read the post???? When you go to the training mode, and go to training options, you have the ability to turn on ATTACK DATA and INPUT DISPLAY. You will see the color codes, how many hits were in your combo, how much damage the combo actually causes, and how close the person is to becoming dizzy. When you go to the challange mode and do the combo/move challanges, it shows you what to do and if you press the select button it shows you exactly what to do.

And next time, read the manual.

You'll be good.

Would love to hear your initial impressions of the game so far.
Oh word, I knew you would be on point blue, thats why I risked the 60 bucks. I have not had a chance to play it yet exept at the arcade cuz my 360 is back home in the states, so far I just played it once. I got to the 4th stage before getting beaten. It looks fuckin dope! The stages are sclean, and there is a good selection of characters ) good variety, fast, powerfull ect) Maybe the home version has more than the arcade tho? It seems like you will be able to string together some pretty long combos as well.

And you say THATS newbie friendly??? lol i'd hate to see a game that isn't newbie friendly then.. You gotta do 4 different thing's to actually get the training mode into training mode?

Plus blockbuster games dont come with manuals.
