That's diff man, the way pacman came up from lightweight in dominating fashion is very suspicious. I followed his whole career was a big fan of his and still respects his skill. not hating at all just call it like I see it. But that's my opinion, mayweather on the other hand notices there is a lot of dirty athletes all over sports and just wants a even playin field. It really is not much to ask, mosley did it(a former steroid user). This fight is so big and maybe the biggest of all time, what's the big deal!

pac & pbf both came from 106 pounds. They just have different styles. pac is the greatest offensive fighter in the game, floyd is the greatest defensive fighter in the game. so naturally they are going to beat opponents a lot differently.

Roberto Duran started at 119 pounds and eventually was knocking out super middleweights. Same size as pacquiao (5'6½″, 67" reach).

So no way this fight happens. Marquez should have left Golden Boy when he had the chance.

Also in the article it states that Andre Berto's demands that Bob Arum negotiated with his promoter were reasonable and so were shane mosley who's acting as a free agent, so it looks like it's down to two. The Bob Father will bring these offers (including Marquez's) to Pacquiao and company in the Philippines in Late December and they will decide who they want.

Marquez has fought twice this year and has attracted something like 13,000 fans total to his fights. Neither fight was on PPV.

Pacquiao has also fought twice this year, attracting 90,000 people and generating nearly 2 million PPV buys.


C'mon son. Marquez needs to be happy if he even gets a 3rd fight honestly, no matter what the split. Marquez simply isn't a box office attraction, and that is what they base the purse split on, not skills.

well for starters he didn't win either fight, regardless if he thinks so or not. Second, Pacquiao is the biggest star in boxing right now along with floyd mayweather. The bigger star always gets the bigger cut, that's the way boxing has always worked (same goes for most other combat sports as well, I'm sure brock lesner for example consistently made a lot more than his opponents).

Pac's last fight there were like 40,000 people in attendance. Marquez last fight there were less than 4,500. Pac's PPV did over 1 Million buys. Marquez was on regular HBO.

I think at the most marquez should ask for like I don't know, 30%. That's probably fair. Maybe if he's super lucky they could work out some kind of contract that if marquez wins he gets an extra 10-15% or something like that.

Anywhich way you dice it up, marquez would get paid more money then any other fight in his career, with exception to the Mayweather fight.

To me, and this is just me, if Marquez wants the fight so badly and thinks he can beat pacquiao, I don't see how he could NOT take ~30%. It's the opportunity he's been waiting for and if he doesn't take it now he'll probably never get it again.
