For the people supporting gay couples raising a child...do any of you know a gay couple that is raising a child?

My best friend has a son...his ex-girlfriend is now gay and is engaged to be married. She has custody of their son. Her and her significant other help raise his son...he gets his son on the weekends.

This kid is the saddest kid I have ever seen.

He has no friends (outside of his family). The kids in school make fun of him. The kids in his neighborhood are not allowed to come over to the house, nor is he allowed to go over to their house. The kid is alienated from everyone but his family.

Sure, he is loved by his mother and her girlfriend...his whole family. But to everyone else, it's like he doesn't exist.

Because of this, he has no social skills. I love him, but he has got to be one of the most screwed up kids I have ever seen.

It is definitely not a healthy way to raise a child.

Grimpy Pimp I think the that the child you know would benefit from changing schools and a more positive evironment, counseling seems like it would help the kid.

Those people shouldnt be mean to him over something he cant control, I'm not sure how old you are, but have you reached out to the kid and talked to him, maybe hang out with him. You could help him gain social skills and possibly be the person to help change this kid's life around.

What do you think?

Probably so, but the bay ain't cheap...moving is not an option. And counseling may help, but again, there are cost issues...time issues as well.

They shouldn't be mean, but that's the way it is. It's a cruel world.

I'm 26, and as much as I would like to help the kid...it's not my call. He has a mother, father...and a loving family. I leave it to them...it's their kid.

They know...they see what's going on.

They can't change it though...you are what you are, and it is what it is. They just deal with it the best way possible.

You didn't know I was gay so you felt it ok to speak so carelessly. I understand that. But at the same time there are a lot of things you don't know about a lot of people and you're true colors on that situation came to the light. The lesson here is you never know who you are really dealing with, and if you're not careful you could burn bridges over comments like that. I'm not saying with me, but possibly with someone else.

i used jazzboy as a example of people on this board, which in my opinion includes you karlie, that nit pick everyword, almost like your looking for a hidden meaning, or want someone to be against you so you look for evidence that they came at you negatively so you can respond and come across as a victim of board bullys....

Your condescention isn't really necessary. No one came at you crazy. Shoot from the hip and dole out all the advice and opinions you can muster. That's what an open forum is about. I don't see anyone trying to silence you here.

Bullet I guess you cant talk to someone without using words that arent offensive. You seem to think that because YOU dont care if someone were to call you a beaner that the next person shouldnt get offended by the same thing.

You can be equally if not more powerful with you opinions if you learn to choose your words better. Voicing your opinion without being "PC" does not make what you say powerful.
You can still be "PC" and be "real".

I wasn't offended but rap site or not, this is the "Gathering of Minds" forum and it's where people discuss these issues and use big words if they so choose. I'm glad you don't give a fuck. That makes two of us. :)
