i think also homeless people will get healthcare too. a lot of times they die from easily preventable stuff. So if this reform also helps them out that's a good thing. are you guys all against that too.
Actually a lot of homeless people do get free healthcare.

Most hospitals write it off as charity at the end of the year to lighten up their tax load.

San Francisco residents get Healthy San Francisco, which is ridiculously low cost healthcare. A lot of homeless people are still saavy enough to apply for and recieve Medi-Cal as well.

Not really, because the majority of folks that are considered "minorities" that I talk to all agree with what I have been saying. Of course you will always have your whitewashed sell outs that will never get it. I never said I was here to get long with all white people. All my life I have fought white racist peckerwood faggots whether it was in the workplace, on the street, in prison or jail, etc... By fighting, I don't only mean physically. And yes, I do have white friends who have my back just as much as my other friends. It also doesn't mean I trust just anyone either because they are the same ethnicity as me. I am not naive and I can see a phony from far away just as much as I can see a closet racist. What I found is the the racists that got on my damn nerves the most were the motherfuckers that were so ignorant that they didn't think they were a Racist. Since Obama has been in office I have heard many of these racist cowards talking subliminally without coming out and saying how they really feel, because they are chickenshits!
you know what's ironic?

you sound racist as fuck right now! but won't come out and admit it

reverse racism... buddy... not only white people are capable of being racists

I never denied that, but the Rich white man does look down on people of color more than poor whites. Also, the Rich Whites use the poor ignorant white rednecks to do their dirty work for them in politics. It's always been like that throughout history. Look at the Civil War for an example. Did the rich whites go and fight? No, they used the poor white rednecks to do the dirty work for them, because these ignorant peckerwoods believed everything they were fed.

The same shit goes on today! The Republicans brainwash these okiefied lower class whites that are living in these Redneck states like Idaho, Missouri, Kansas, Kentucky, etc. so they will vote for them. It's not just certain states, because even liberal states have their pockets of these dumb asses. Like right now for instance they are feeding everyone all this propaganda about how bad this Health Bill that was just passed. What's sad is all these dumb asses are buying into it too. I can't believe people still believe everything the news tells them. These lower class rednecks don't realize that they would actually benefit more from this than hurt from it. They just keep believing the propaganda, because a lot of them are driven by hate. The same thing happened back in history when Social Security and other social programs were created. The white right wingers started saying it was communism just like they are trying to claim now!
funny because the media is far more geared toward supporting Obama/Democrats/Liberals... unless you're watching Fox News, which obviously goes out of it's way to bash Obama and anything every chance it's get, there's no denying that... and I'll be the first to admit they're far from "Fair and balanced"

BUT at the same time, other media outlets went out of their way to bash Bush when he was in office, and are for the most part in support of Obama

the media played a huge role in getting Obama in office in the first place

so I'll say I hope YOU don't believe everything the news tells you... because it goes BOTH ways

You know what's ironic?

A Portland Police Officer said the exact same statement one time just because I pointed out he was harrassing my girlfriend at the time and I during an altercation with some white folks. He gave them special treatment while fucking with us, assuming we were the wrong and was looking for any excuse to gaffle us. Just because I confronted him and pointed out the obvious he started claiming reverse racism! "Not only white people are capable of being racists", he yelled all mad and red in the face. That's just one example to get my point across here.

My point is just because one stands up against a racist white person(s) they automatically are accused of reverse racism. If you take an assertive approach against it you are automatically accused of being a radical racist communist just like Malcom X, Leonard Peltier, Chavez, etc. who were accused of it. If standing up against some racist peckerwood motherfucker makes me a racist then so be it! I will never back down to anyone talking that bullshit (even if it's subliminal) whether it be on the street, in prison, at school, at the work place or on the fuckin' Siccness.net! So don't tell me racism has nothing to do with this Health Care Bill or Obama being in office. People try and say racism against people of color is diminishing, but they are full of shit. As long as I continue to hear and see it, I will stand up against it!

Found this on another site, but like many have said they still have provisions to go over so nothing is final yet.

WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR OF ENACTMENT

* Insurance companies will be barred from dropping people from coverage when they get sick. Lifetime coverage limits will be eliminated and annual limits are to be restricted.
* Insurers will be barred from excluding children for coverage because of pre-existing conditions.
* Young adults will be able to stay on their parents' health plans until the age of 26. Many health plans currently drop dependents from coverage when they turn 19 or finish college.
* Uninsured adults with a pre-existing conditions will be able to obtain health coverage through a new program that will expire once new insurance exchanges begin operating in 2014.
* A temporary reinsurance program is created to help companies maintain health coverage for early retirees between the ages of 55 and 64. This also expires in 2014.
* Medicare drug beneficiaries who fall into the "doughnut hole" coverage gap will get a $250 rebate. The bill eventually closes that gap which currently begins after $2,700 is spent on drugs. Coverage starts again after $6,154 is spent.
* A tax credit becomes available for some small businesses to help provide coverage for workers.
* A 10 percent tax on indoor tanning services that use ultraviolet lamps goes into effect on July 1.

WHAT HAPPENS IN 2011

* Medicare provides 10 percent bonus payments to primary care physicians and general surgeons.
* Medicare beneficiaries will be able to get a free annual wellness visit and personalized prevention plan service. New health plans will be required to cover preventive services with little or no cost to patients.
* A new program under the Medicaid plan for the poor goes into effect in October that allows states to offer home and community based care for the disabled that might otherwise require institutional care.
* Payments to insurers offering Medicare Advantage services are frozen at 2010 levels. These payments are to be gradually reduced to bring them more in line with traditional Medicare.
* Employers are required to disclose the value of health benefits on employees' W-2 tax forms.
* An annual fee is imposed on pharmaceutical companies according to market share. The fee does not apply to companies with sales of $5 million or less.

WHAT HAPPENS IN 2012

* Physician payment reforms are implemented in Medicare to enhance primary care services and encourage doctors to form "accountable care organizations" to improve quality and efficiency of care.
* An incentive program is established in Medicare for acute care hospitals to improve quality outcomes.
* The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which oversees the government programs, begin tracking hospital readmission rates and puts in place financial incentives to reduce preventable readmissions. WHAT HAPPENS IN 2013
* A national pilot program is established for Medicare on payment bundling to encourage doctors, hospitals and other care providers to better coordinate patient care.
* The threshold for claiming medical expenses on itemized tax returns is raised to 10 percent from 7.5 percent of income. The threshold remains at 7.5 percent for the elderly through 2016.
* The Medicare payroll tax is raised to 2.35 percent from 1.45 percent for individuals earning more than $200,000 and married couples with incomes over $250,000. The tax is imposed on some investment income for that income group.
* A 2.9 percent excise tax in imposed on the sale of medical devices. Anything generally purchased at the retail level by the public is excluded from the tax.

WHAT HAPPENS IN 2014

* State health insurance exchanges for small businesses and individuals open.
* Most people will be required to obtain health insurance coverage or pay a fine if they don't. Healthcare tax credits become available to help people with incomes up to 400 percent of poverty purchase coverage on the exchange.
* Health plans no longer can exclude people from coverage due to pre-existing conditions.
* Employers with 50 or more workers who do not offer coverage face a fine of $2,000 for each employee if any worker receives subsidized insurance on the exchange. The first 30 employees aren't counted for the fine.
* Health insurance companies begin paying a fee based on their market share.

WHAT HAPPENS IN 2015

* Medicare creates a physician payment program aimed at rewarding quality of care rather than volume of services.

WHAT HAPPENS IN 2018

* An excise tax on high cost employer-provided plans is imposed. The first $27,500 of a family plan and $10,200 for individual coverage is exempt from the tax. Higher levels are set for plans covering retirees and people in high risk professions.

I aint goin anywhere near all this racism / reverse racism talk... BUT.

I wanna make one more point about health care... some of yall bitchin about "oh I'm so low income, this is gonna ruin me!!" you know what, if you're THAT fucking low income you'll get FREE health care even if you're single... and if you're married w/ kids, you're whole household will get free healthcare.. now, in my situation, I have Health Partners through work that I pay $200 / month for and that covers my wife and I and our two kids, PLUS I qualify for backup insurance through the state that covers the cost of copays to where I only have to pay $3 for doctor visits and $1 - $5 for prescriptions. and on top of that, I get a refund check every month for around $78 towards what I pay for the Health Partners out of my checks, because of the fact I qualify for backup insurance through the state. And I'm bringin home a decent monthly pay, definitely not poverty level... so I think what it comes down to is, some of you either 1. don't fully understand what's available to you when you're low income, 2. aren't "low income," or 3. just want something new to bitch about.

So, if it makes ya feel better, keep bitchin. I aint gonna lose sleep over it.

trust me... I know cops can be racist against minorities... there's no doubting that

one time I was in Chico with 2 of my homies, who are both black (one of is my best friends in the world... which proves how much of a racist I am...) there was a gang of people (most of them white) crossing the street... the cop stops the 3 of us, ignores all the other white people, and threatens to throw us in jail... throw us in jail for jaywalking??? that's just an example of things I've seen... being a minority yourself I'm sure you've seen a lot more than that... and it's fucked up you've had to go through any of it simply because of the color of your skin... so i feel you! I'm not denying there's racism against minorities in our country... I'm just saying you seem to have taken it to an extreme level...

and racism IS diminishing... just because it still exists doesn't mean it's NOT diminishing! 50 years ago you had to use a different water fountain than me... you had to go to the back of the bus... had to go to a different school... that shit doesn't go on today

yeah there are still racist people... but there are FAR MORE people who accept all races... if you deny that you're being blinded by hatred... yeah... racism against you personally leads you to believe that the majority of white america is out to get you... quit playing the victim role so much

yeah you can stand up to some "peckerwood" (btw, that's a racial slur... imagine if I started calling black people "niggers" right now... wow!) because that "peckerwood" is a racist... just like I can stand up to some black person (notice how I didn't drop to a level of using a derogatory racial slur) who I feel is displaying racism towards my race

^ i thought you were gonna stay out of this thread?
I tried... but I can't

and just for the record... it's no love lost or hate for anyone I'm debating with... because shit tends to get heated, but I just wanna let it be known... we may have different view points, but I got love for everybody, as long as you don't personally disrespect me to a certain a point

I have been all up and down the West Coast and the racist white folks I am talking about preferred to be called Peckerwoods. I never call my white homies Peckerwoods. That's just how we talk where I have been. When my Grandpa, Uncles and Pops were growing up in California, they always used the term "Okie". Now the NLR's, EK's etc. tell me to say "Peckerwood" or "Guero", because they don't really use that "Okie" term anymore.

As far as comparing the derogatory terms for people of color to Peckerwoods, Honkeys, etc. is no comparison. That's just the way it is! I have used those terms for white folks in a derogatory way and the majority of the white folks don't get offended. Only the racist pieces of shit who are full of hate use it as fuel to keep hating. If you drop a racist slur towards a Black, Latino, Asian etc. than you better be ready for consequences.

Most of that has to due with your history. Those racist terms used against folks of color were used to lower self-esteem, over power, etc. Calling whites those derogatory names didn't have the same effect since they felt superior over the years. If one tries and claims they have the same impact with racism then they are ignorant and full of shit! I'm also 99.9% sure the ones complaining about that are white too.

well if you were attempting to in any way, shape, or form refer to ME as a peckerwood (not exactly sure if you were or not... if you weren't... cool) I take offense to it

whether or not other white people like being called that shit... I'm no fuckin peckerwood
