I burn cd's all the time. But when it comes to Bay Area cd's, I don't burn them....................................................or buy them.

Shits is too boring and played out. Even this new mixtape thing is
The last bangin Northern Cali Cd IMO was The Done Deal Family Cd. They sound hungry on the mic...

Fools need to sit back and make quality music.. and aknowledge the fact that this is a new era in the industry.

Embrace it and Accept It....

WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SIT ON OUR ASS??????

That same sort of sweat & blood goes into our daily jobs from which we get money to purchase albums.

What you said sort of sounds like CONSUMERS get money falling from the sky into our wallets, while ARTISTS are the only ones who have to work for their money. That's just plain bullshit!

Who the fucc are you to say we sit on our ass? I can't speak for everyone else but I work my ass off every fuccing day. I don't give a fucc how hard you work on your album, that means NOTHING to me. The only thing that matters to me (and I assume most everyone else) is wether or not the cd is actually any good. I ALWAYS download an album before I buy it, there is not one artist in any genre that I can trust enough to buy a cd from without listening to it first. I've downloaded a lot of albums, a lot of them I didn't go out and buy. Why? BECAUSE THEY SUCCED ASS!!! The good ones I bought and will continue to do so. I see a lot of people on this board say "support the bay", fucc that SUPPORT GOOD MUSIC NO MATTER WHERE IT'S FROM. If I have to choose between two albums which to buy; one album is from a lesser know bay area artist and one is from a popular east coast artist, I will buy the better album regardless of where they are from. Fucc this regional bullshit that so many people on here seem to be preaching. It's all about good music and that's all that should matter. If people aren't buying your album, then in most cases it's not because they downloaded it instead, it's because it wasn't very good and that's the artists fault not the consumer.

Here's something I posted in one of the million other bullshit threads about this topic:

If someone downloads your album and doesn't buy it then they probably weren't going to buy it in the first place. The same people downloading albums instead of buying them are the same people 10 years ago who would have their friends dub an album for them instead of buying it. I know for a fact having the ability to download albums hurts sales, but not for the reasons the riaa and the industry wants everyone to believe. It hurts sales because people download an album, realize it's shit and don't waste their money. If someone downloads your album and doesn't buy it then it usually means one of two things;

1. they weren't going to buy it in the first place and there's nothing you can do about it.

or

2. your album isn't worth buying and that's your fault.

There are VERY FEW quality albums that have been out in the past few years. Combine that with the flood of extremely wacc clone albums from every other kid on the internet and you have an over-saturated market. The more albums there are to buy the less albums there are that will actually be bought. Consumers are only going to spend a certain amount of money so they aren't going to buy every album available. Most people I know have bought at most 20-30 cds in their life. Most of that has been in the last 10 years. Averaged out that's 2-3 cd's a year. Now with the average consumer buying 2-3 cd's a year and 100's or maybe 1000's of cd's coming out each year that leaves a lot of albums that will see minimal sales. What's to blame? File sharing? Lacc of quality? Oversaturation? In some aspect all three are to blame. File sharing for keeping some people from buying bullshit. Lacc of quality for making people afraid to take a chance on an album. And oversaturation for causing some quality albums to be overlooked. You want to know what the problem is? Look no further than this site, at least half the people here are "artists" and have an album out or are putting one out soon. Out of all those "artists" putting out albums very few of them are actually any good and even fewer of them are actually worth buying. So don't blame file sharing for shit, blame the industry and the talentless pieces of shit in it for flooding the market with bullshit.

Thats why an intelligent musician has a REAL job on the side instead of relying on the sales of his/her music.(especially underground artists considering their sales are based off a smaller fan base)

If a CD only has 2 or 3 good songs i'm gonna burn the fuck out of it, fuck hurtin the rappers pockets, he's hurtin my pockets by puttin out weak shit and me gettin tricked into buyin it...rappers aint nobody special, would yall give a bum on the street $17 to sing a few songs for you? hell naw, I might give him a quarter or so, which is about the cost of a burnt CD...

Now on the other hand if it's a well rounded album i'll buy it, if I feel it deserves to be payed for....other than that i'm burnin and suck my dick if you got anything bad to say about that.

u definatley gotta double edge samauri sword when it comes to dram like that, u can't really put your self in a artist shoes unless u are an artist, it goes vice versa with the buyers shoes, its pretty easy to be like, "I only like 2 songs off this shit why buy the whole thing"......or "I'm only one sale"....Siccness has infected the masses so im sure somethin with the commercial benefits as burnin a cd on the down low would be alright if the mix aint no one from the siccness,
Without the Rap reservation mind fuckin subjects that the siccness brings most rap would be just poetry over beats instead of what it really is in the deep round which is that shit is the shit is the shit is the shit ya dig,
NICKATINA< FIRST DEGREE< BROTHA LYNCH HUNG, TECH N9NE<DPG-thers no way out,<SOME EMINEN)_MSANE DE BEEF IS A LAUGHER ON THE ALBUM BUT A DOWNEr in the real swang of things, Most people fell Vol 1 so far over Vol 2, but what the fuck is this guy doin, msane would be insane to ever try and break ties with the DE, since u havent responded its like u don't have any respect for the DE who honestly, didn't exist I would never know you and thats as close to a facts as it gets ex lac addict and im out with a bloop bloop...............PATDADDY

i spend at least $500 a month on cds alone.
500 dollars a month?! Are you fuckin' serious? I got way more important things to spend my money on then to buy 500 dollars worth of CDs each month. That's outrageous....I know y'all gonna hate me for this type of attitude, but shit.....why pay for something I can get for free! I will continue to burn CDs until I am no longer able to. That's just the way it goes and that's the way it's gonna be until somebody figures out a way to stop it.

I ALSO TEND 2 BURN CDS THAT I OWN...THAT WAY I CAN BE CAREFREE WITA CD I JUST BURNED & NOT TRIP ABOUT IF IT GETS JACKED OR FUCKED UP...CUASE I ALWAYS HAVE THE REAL COPY AT HOME 2 BURN & BUMP AGAIN
that's the only reason i do it. just to back up my shit. But peep, cds are too expensive these days even in the used section. the only time i buy cds' is when i find it used for $6. I'll cop an album brand new from certain artists and labels ie: done deal. But if brand new cd's from independent artist were only like $6-$7 each i would buy a lot more albums. I spend like $200 a month maybe more or less depending what drops. I'd like to get more albums around the same amount that i spend. But like people say...most shit is really wack these days. People just get features on their album to make sales.
