Honestly, I never understood the hype around Alex Smith. I went to high school with him and the whole team was Reggie Bush. Anybody could have played QB for that team. Then I was surprised he was going to Utah and STILL didn't see anything special about him. He ran out of the shotgun formation and would run the ball a lot. Never saw anything that made me think he'd be a good "NFL" quarterback. I was stunned when I heard he was going to be taken first overall. Too bad because he's a good kid, but it is what it is.
Bro we've been giving Alex Smith the benefit of the doubt the last 3 seasons. It's his 5th year as a NFL QB. He overthrew an open receiver in the end zone today. He's got a beefed up O-Line from the draft and he still looks like the same Alex Smith that hasn't been living up to expectations ever since he was drafted.
Yeah I feel y'all but the o-line wasn't playin great today for alex smith. Play callin was wack to. He did play like garbage but give him a few games. This is suppose to be his year and in his first game he plays shitty. But again its the FIRST GAME of the season. He hasn't played a game this preseason with all his starters, that could be why he played like that. But Like I said before I'm going to wait until I say fuck alex smith.
It was a combination of Smith's inability to throw a pass to the chest (he always passes way too high, way too low/short, out of bounds, or perfect pass to a defender) and Norris' inability to actually keep running straight and catch the pass over his shoulder. Instead Norris ran a little, and looked straight, only to look like a clumsy ass.
