Where in my post did I make a comparison? I'll wait ..
You said landing the same amount of punches throughout a fight doesn't constitute being outboxed and if you're just looking at compubox records you could be right but that's not how that fight played out. Mosley WAS outboxed throughout the late rounds when he was running around the ring trying to end Cotto's night.
nobody said you made a comparison. i just stated the differences between the two fighters is all. they both landed the same amount of punches in that fight nomatter how you slice it. the advantage cotto had in that fight with the puerto rican following that night made a huge difference in those later rounds. i don't care who you are, if the crowd is behind you its going to give you that extra "umph" in those last rounds like it did for him. switch it around if they had it in LA, it would of been the bigger advantage for Mosley. thats not an excuse, thats just stating the obvious. this was also the last straw for shane and his father being his trainer too...that being the biggest factor in that fight in my opinion. it was just a perfect storm at the right time for cotto and he pulled it out at the end.
back to my point about offensive and defensive fighters though. when you are facing an offensive fighter, you will more then likely be on your toes a bit more, thinking about defense and counterpunching more then anything else. when its a defensive fighter with not so great offensive skills it will make him pin his ears back and attack...which is what he does best! he won't be worried one bit about floyds punches, it will be like getting hit in the face with a pillow. thats not going to disrupt mosley's aggressiveness. like it disrupted other fighters who have came across mayweather.
floyd has never faced an offensive fighter of the likes of mosley..no matter how old he is...pbf better not overlook shanes hand speed or else it will end in disappointment for you money fans.
