prime canelo>>prime cotto
Canelo isnt even in his prime yet haha. Silly statement! Got Em!!

lol you criticized pacquiao for beating Cotto. Now here is floyd fighting Cotto, three years later, and no criticisms from you of course. That's called being a hypocrite.
Actually I think when Pac fought Cotto, Cotto wasnt in his right mind after all that Margarito wrap stuff came out earlier that year that really messed him up. I think Cotto is at his best now and over the past couple of fights since he has cleared his mind and changed trainers and whatnot. Basically I think he is a lot tougher opponent now then when he fought Manny. Got Em!!

I was using bigface logic, what I typed isn't what I think simply pointing out his hypocrisy.

Anyways, as far as the tougher opponent now then 3 years ago. Nah, I'll take the younger, 27 year old Cotto over the 31 year old Cotto. Doesn't matter both pac & floyd beat him at any weight, 3 years ago or now.

Do not, under any circumstances, overlook Cotto. He's coming off an impressive performance and he'll be performing on probably the best known Mexican/Latino celebration date. I'm not saying he has the skills to beat Floyd, but with everything to win and nothing to really lose (this isn't Ortiz btw) you can't count the guy out.

Remember what happened to Iron Mike when the odds were 42 to 1. He got knocked out. Again, I'm just saying don't underestimate the guy.

I'm holding off on voting until a week before the fight. I need to see how the camp goes.

Dude get real. Fighting a drained Cotto at 145 who had issues with a cheater not long before the fight or fighting a Cotto who is back in full form and fighting at his weight of 154? I think thats an easy call which Cotto is tougher! He wouldve destroyed Pac at 154 period! Got Em!!

Drained? You're reaching bruh. He weighed in at 146 in his fight before Pacquiao, and a pound under the limit during the Pacquiao fight. The weight wasn't an issue. He said it himself, and his team confirmed. Cotto is not a natural 154 pounder. He just balloons up in between fights making the weight cut tough.

Hilarious how all of the Floyd minions are trying to now justify this fight like Cotto is some kind of juggernaut now, and was "drained" "psychologically off" and "shot" when Pacquiao fought him.

I actually like the fight, but again...this fight is a few years late. 2008 Cotto would have given Floyd fits, IMO...but I wouldn't be surprised if he's able to do well in this one.

drained c'mon man he weighed 146 the fight prior. My theory is he was closer to his fighting prime at age 28 then he his now. BUT with that said, will have to see how he looks against Floyd. Maybe he fights way better, maybe he doesn't. We'll just have to see. Cotto is still a great fighter but I think it could be possible his wins over margarito & mayorga could be slightly misleading. Time will tell I guess.

You're really reaching with the "he would have destroyed pacquiao at 154" comment too. He only went up to 154 because there was no one left at 147. He fought all the big names at 147 - Judah, Mosley, Margarito, Clottey & Pacquiao. There was no one left to fight. He went to 154 cuz of that and because a unique opportunity was there for him to win a title at 154 by fighting Yuri Foreman. I've always said Cotto has no business fighting at junior middleweight he's too small. I wouldn't want to see cotto fight a true JMW like James Kirkland or a beast like that.

Lol @ people thinking Cotto is the shit based off what he did to margarito who blocks with his face and was fresh off of recovering from an eye injury. I like that margarito has heart like all Mexican boxers do(except Ortiz) but he is even more overrated then Cotto. Cotto has a nice record you can't take that away. But never has one od his victories been impressive or do I see him as a first ballot hall of famer like so many of his groupies do.

Of course his team isnt gonna say its an issue but its obvious he wasnt the same. Why do u think he wanted this fight with Floyd at 154? he couldve easily took this fight at 147 which Floyd wouldve been happy with. Also its not an excuse but he was goin through shit with all that Margarito hoopla and weve seen boxers in the past who not in their right mind or things on their mind not fight their best fight! Got Em!!

His camp seems to think he is more of a 154 guy and he is much more comfortable at that weight. U are right I am not sure if he wouldve destroyed Pac at 154 but I think it wouldve been a much different fight. Got Em!!

Can't wait for this fight, finally going down with arum out the picture. I see this fight being great early on with cotto winning most of the early rounds. But around the 6th 7th round I see mayweather taking over with his presure. Mayweather will be a lot stronger in the later rounds and cotto will be tired and weak. I call late stoppage, great fight tho. Canelo vs mosley, nice step up for the kid golden boy has been taking great care of him. He's gonna have to dig deep to beat mosley his toughest foe yet. Not calling, should be interesting.

I'm picking Bradley to beat pacman, hope it goes down. Very dangerous for manny

if he's more of a 154 guy then why did cotto try to fight Margarito at a catchweight of 150 pounds??? Margarito declined and cotto settled for a catchweight of 153. got em!!!!

Cotto still wants 150 pound catchweight for Margarito rematch
http://www.boxingnews24.com/2011/08/cotto-still-wants-150-pound-catchweight-for-margarito-rematch/

Cotto-Margarito finally reached an agreement on the contract weight for their rematch: 153 pounds.

Why would a true junior middleweight try to fight at 150 pounds?

Probably because Margarito is bigger than him. Im sure depending on who the matchup is with would dictate what the best weight to fight at obviously. So fighting Floyd at 154 is easily an advantage for Cotto. Got Em!!

damn dude! you took the words right out of my mouth. you cant underestimate cotto, and im glad you brought up the 42 to 1 odds with iron mike tyson, James Buster Douglas whooped mike tysons ass cause tyson was sloppy and did not respect douglas and was not training properly.

now floyd mayweather seems pretty damn arrogant and disrespectful, but i dont think he would ever slack on his training quite like tyson did. but you cant help but stop and wonder how devastating and shocking cotto knocking out mayweather would be. like you said, cotto has nothing to lose, and boxing immortality to gain.

a knockout would destroy mayweathers legacy and possibly his career, and would be the funniest and most vindicating moment for anybody who doesnt respect his antics.

also want to add that its funny seeing 2-0-sixx destroy people in arguments in here, yet their denial is so strong they cant even accept solid proof and clearly laid out logic. Got Em!!!!

lol im just laughing at the shit all the mayweather worshippers would say if floyd lost to cotto

"its a fuckin conspiracy! his legal troubles were timed to fuck up his flow, the man wants to keep floyd down!!!! cotto had illegal hand-wraps! cotto was on steroids! the ref was paid off!! someone drugged floyd before the fight!"

lol
