the reason that I asked, this is just a thought that crossed my mind in no way am I saying this will happen, but I found it odd that floyd would pay the sanctioning fee to the WBA and not the WBC since he's always supported the WBC and always publicly stated the WBC was the best belt to have. What I'm saying is, assuming floyd wins the 154 pound WBA belt from Cotto, and assuming Pac beats Bradley...will Floyd then say he will only fight Pac if Pac moves up and challenges him for his 154 pound title? Cuz we all know Pac isn't moving up in weight anymore. That's the thought that crossed my mind.

Which I suppose is a mute point considering Floyd had this to say today:

Pacquiao is not get 50/50, no one is. Ever.

"[Pacquiao] is not one of the sharpest knives in the drawer. He faces Floyd Mayweather, he's not getting 50-50. Not at all. No one is getting 50-50," Mayweather said.

Cotto is a free agent. He hasn't had a contract his last couple fights even with top rank. Golden Boy is promoting this fight but he will continue to be a free agent after and says he wants to do business with top rank again and arum says the same.

Pacquiao should do the same.

You're right HERSEY. Floyd's ego is out of control.

Floyd To Pacquiao: Be Happy With 30 Million, No Back End!

"Just by speaking to Pacquiao on the phone, I mean, he's not one of the sharpest knives in the drawer," Mayweather said. "He faces Floyd Mayweather, he's not getting 50-50. Not at all. No one is getting 50-50."

"Bob Arum likes to match Top Rank fighters with Top Rank fights. He keeps all the money in house," Mayweather said. "If I offered him $30 million, he should be happy. If I offered him $30 million and I didn't give money on the back end, why should I? He's with Arum right now, and they're having problems. It's obvious he must not be getting money on the back end."

I know this is way late, but I'm not sure what this really does for the sport at all other than pick up Floyd another belt more than likely. Makes a ton of cash I'm sure. I personally didn't feel like Cotto looked that good against Margarito and people are treating him like he is having this career renaissance. His face was scuffed up pretty good against Margarito that looked slower than a glacier going uphill. I can't imagine that Cotto does that well in this fight AND he's actually the smaller fighter despite the weight. So Floyd looks like a G moving up in weight and not fighting at a catchweight for this fight. I'd love to be surprised by a great fight but I don't expect that here.

"Take the drug tests and we have a fight" - floyd

I think it's clear now that manny has accepted olympic style drug testing that's not the issue and probably never was. floyd keeps moving the goalposts. People blame bob arum for being greedy but this is beyond greed at this point.

the weird thing is I think he has the style and skills to beat manny. So either he just doesn't want to really challenge himself, he's scared of defeat or its simply greed.

People accuse bob arum/Pacquiao of in-house fighting and say pac only fights Top Rank fighters. Well, Pac has actually fought two non-top rank fighters (golden boy) just a few years ago whereas Floyd, when the fuck was the last time he didn't fight a Golden Boy fighter?

So floyd fighting Cotto (who signed a 1 time fight with Golden Boy), Mayweather will receive most of the gate, concessions, souvenirs and PPV revenue and they he doesn't have to worry about money going to a co-promoter, in fact, floyd is the co-promoter! Mayweather promotions. So more money for floyd all around. I think that's why he didn't want to fight Pac and only offered him a flat fee. He doesn't want to "pay" anyone a dime.

Floyd aint stupid he knows Pac would tear his head off, and i'm a floyd fan. if he doesnt fight Pac, this will taint his legacy.
Rasan I cant believe what Im reading. Floyd would destroy that lil guy period! Floyd is str8 up about this and thats why he has went public with everthing that has gone on. Pac doesnt deserve a 50/50 split and 30-40 mill is much more than he has ever made in any fight. If yall think Floyd is making excuses then Pac should call his bluff and take the 40 mill and then we can see if Floyd makes up another excuse right? Got Em!!

Are you mental bro? If Floyd offered Pac a flat fee of $30 or $40 million, Floyd would walk away with $80-$100 million after everything is said in done. Is that fair? The richest fight in history between the two biggest stars in the sport and one guy is going to take a flat fee while the other guy takes a huge majority of the money? You'd have to be a complete moron.

Plus that $30-$40 million that Pac would get would still have to split by all the people he has to pay (top rank 26%, Roach 10% and so on). It actually wouldn't be his biggest payday. He maid over $25 million against Marquez III.

So please, explain to me how it's fair you knucklehead? Break out your Fisher Price calculator and let's do some math.

If Pac offered Floyd a flat fee of $50 million (which is FAR MORE money than floyd has ever made for a single fight) would floyd think it's fair?

Better yet, Pac offered $50 million guaranteed to each fighter with a 55/45 split of the PPV (55 going to the winner of the fight and 45 going to the loser). Floyd declined.

Floyd offering manny the money up front isn't too bad, why are you guys complaining? You really care for bob arum to.get cashed out that much? Don't hate on Floyd cuz he's not a puppet for a promoter like manny, him getting cashed out more than manny for the fight makes sense since he promotes himself!
