I came up on it while exploring, it's pretty far in the southeast portion of the map, you have to swim a bit to get to it. I think you have to connect some power stuff and kill some mirelurks then it's available as a settlement. I think it's gotta be the one with the biggest build area, pretty uneven ground, but it's huge
The island right? That place is amazing to build. The entire island is open. It's crazy. I built a fairly large building and it was just in one tiny spot of the island, so much more land. I think after I finish the main quest and stock up tons of materials I'm going to try and build a massive castle from scratch.

If I'm not mistaken they are never ending; Preston will always have some shit and there are duplicates. Pretty sure I've cleared out that Rock quarry three times before I realized this. So I just skip them now if I recognize it's one I've done before. Not exactly sure how it works though so u might want to look that up.

I still haven't done a single brotherhood of steel mission lol I need to do them soon fuck

Might as well compare:

lol remind me later, you're going to trip im pretty sure my junk collected is like 40k+ or something

Has anyone tried the MIRV weapons mod on the fat man yet?

The experimental MIRV is a unique Fat Man that can be found in the bomb shelter area in the National Guard depot. This weapon deals the most damage of any weapon in the entire game, as it acts like a shotgun version of the Fat Man, delivering eight mini nukes at once. The MIRV actually does the same damage as a Fat Man per mini nuke, as 12,880/8 equals 1,610. This means that the MIRV is simply a Fat Man with extra capacity and increased ammunition usage. It will not fire if you don't have at least 8 mini nukes in your inventory to load it with. If you have fewer than 8 mini nukes, the weapon will reload but never discharge the payload.

Weird i cleared that area out never found it, or don't remember it, maybe it was locked behind a computer terminal door i decided to say screw hacking... Would rather have those 3 points on bloody mess lol.

Anyway that sounds ridiculously overpowered lol. Maybe ill load like 300 super behemoths in then nuke them with one of those see what happens

Sorry, I think I put some wrong info from fallout 3 in there.

The MIRV is just a weapon mod for any fat man. It's funny because the damage in the description says it's like 18. So you're thinking 18 compared to 450? Fuck that! But it doesn't explain how powerful it really is. Not sure if it was a typo on their part or there is some funny math behind it.

Also you can buy the 'big boy' fat man from diamond city. This Fatman fires two nukes for the cost of only one. When upgraded with the MIRV upgrade the two nukes EACH split into EIGHT more for a total of SIXTEEN mini nukes all for the cost of only one!

I wouldn't mind it being overpowered at all because mini nukes are still rare so if I use one I want it to kill with one shot. Like today I used 4 mini nukes against a one legendary Super Mutant.

My old fave weapon was the Combat Rifle (semi-auto version), but it took a backseat to the Assault Rifle (semi-auto version), which was slightly less damage but had an 80 round drum and plus i had like 4000 5.56mm rounds saved up lol. Well with Gun Nut Rank4 you can upgrade the Combat Rifle (semi-auto) to fire .308 rounds with a 40 round quick eject magazine. Shit is so overpowered coupled with the rifleman perks; you end up with basically a sniper rifle with a Reflex Sight little to no recoil plus a silencer, it shoots fast plus it does 138 dmg i think it was maybe more, and with the Steady Aim perks shit rules... I basically can hit stuff at sniper range with pinpoint accuracy and also if i want to charge in or if there's lots of enemies in my face, i can hip fire really easy and into their torso / head with no problem with relatively controlled aim. Shit is powerful as fuck on Very Hard i 1 shot any raiders and super mutants unless they're tougher, and i can even hang with tough legendary shit cause of the 30% armor penetration with rifles. My fave combo. I tried handguns but you have to constantly worry about ammo some fights you use like 300+ bullets lol

Not if you have the perks for non automatic pistols. Its the opposite for me since I haven't got any rifleman or commando perks so the Assault Rifle is hella weak for me, takes hundreds of bullets to kill something powerful whereas pistols are absolutely essential for my character. That's what makes the perks cool is that you build in the direction you want it to.

It's funny because on r/FO4, sooooo many people complain about how weak the Assault Rifle is and the mini gun, and as you know it can be incredibly powerful, if you use the right perks.

Nah i did, i respec'd to max out pistol perks for awhile but just wasn't feeling it. The deliverer or whatever it was had like 52dmg it was enough to kill raiders but anything with armor would take like 200 bullets lol. The 44 was powerful but that 6rounds was a deal breaker. The rifle shoots faster, same dmg, is 40 rounds, has a reflex dot scope which rules, and ignores 30% armor basically like 30% extra damage it rules

I bet you're supposed to use the critical perks with pistols... I can see it being super powerful if you got like 9 perks in the luck tree lol just start critical shotting things in the head like 10 crit headshots in one VATS event

I'm telling you though if you max out those perks pistols are very powerful, I kill everything with the .44 (besides giant creatures). It just boils down to how you want to play & personal preference though. I'm always a pistol guy in games when given the chance. Iron sites all the way. I have tons of ammo for the .44 and my 10mm guns, plus I sell the thousands of 5mm ammo and essentially trade it in for pistol ammo. You can get the penetrater perk which goes through armor (and even walls). Shit you can even get a "never ending" pistol meaning no reload (I only have that for my combat shotgun though). For rapid fire I prefer energy weapons, automatic plasma rifle specifically that shit is a beast especially with whatever legendary perk mine has (I think it's double damage can't remember).

My stats:
S 7
P 4
E 2
C 10
I 6
A 3
L 9

Perks:
Armorer Rank 1-4
Steady Aim 1 & 2

Rifleman Ranks 1 - 5
Locksmith 1-3

Cap Collector 1-3
Local Leader 1 & 2
Medic 1-3
Gun Nut 1-4
Scrapper 1 & 2

Bloody Mess 1-4

I could probably have a more optimized build but this has worked pretty well. I want to eventually get better criticals, four leaf clover. I dunno none of the agility / endurance / perception perks look good, seems like luck is the way to go. I might have low health from having low END the whole game but the medic perk helps a ton the next rank gives quicker healing which should be nice

That's why The deliverer is good because of how many VATS you get and it regenerates AP quickly so you end up getting a lot of criticals. Its a great stealth weapon with the silencer of course.

Critical Banker is the best luck related perk as it allows you to store/save criticals. So you can just keep banking them (up to 5 I believe) then when you come across something beastly you can unleash all of your banked criticals in a row.

i think from my stats its pretty clear what i spent the majority of my time doing... picking up junk / buying and selling junk and building shit. i had this goal to have every settlement maxed out and fully defended and im going to stick to it damnit lol. combat stacks / exploring stats are definitely lacking but thats good cause i like being able to just run through a place devastating shit and mostly ignoring loot at this point

I had 2 sets of armor at sanctuary and one morning I only had 1. Has anyone had armor stolen or could it be a glitch? My go to gun is the violent combat shotty.
did you get attacked at sanctuary? settlers will jump into your armor when youre getting attacked and theyll use it to fight shit, it might just be randomly out and about somewhere in sanctuary

take the power cell out of it so they cant hijack that shit lol

yeah I took the fusion core out bcuz I remember reading on here that a settler or raider could steal it. The flashing armor icon should be for all your armor sets not just for one. I didn't get attacked either my defense is way up compared to my food levels. I dunno what happened. O well I'll find another and I have a stockpile of armor parts at Sanctuary.

was it just the power armor frame on the thing or did the whole thing disappear? one time i came and it was just two frames i was like wtf, but it turned out all the armor parts were in my workbench dont know what the hell that was about

i havent had that many bugs except for some weird caps glitch where sometimes the merchant doesnt pay you when you sell stuff, usually happens when you're bartering back and forth multiple times i usually just buy something, exit, sell something, exit vs doing it all at once. one time i went to open a door and it teleported me to the middle of the map like super high in the air, it took me like 15 seconds to fall then i died thankfully i quicksaved right before that lol. oh and in one quest the NPC was supposed to open an "inaccessible terminal" and i had to reload the game like 5 times til he was finally fixed and not just standing in one spot (had to kill him then reload and it fixed it). but yeah there are definitely some weird things going on that havent been ironed out yet lol
