Right, but try wearing them because they physically look different. You can usually tell by the base stats, weak, medium, and strong. I'm good now because I have all heavy armor that I found (all with deep pockets fuck anything else lol).

Here I'll show you can example, found this on reddiit

From left to right:
Standard leather, Sturdy leather, Heavy Leather:

You see what I mean now? There is a clear difference between the three, however if it's "boiled leather" or "leaded" or "studded", whatever the hell mod it may have, the item description loses the "heavy, Sturdy or standard" in its name so there is literally no way to tell other than by equipping it (even if you inspect it, it all looks the same).

So it was a BITCH finding a leather heavy chest, left arm, right arm, left leg and right leg to say the least. But since I have, they are all Shadowed (black) with deep pockets on all of them, so extra carrying inventory and some of the pieces are legendary but I think just three (one is chameleon, which is similar to that Chinese Stealth Armor in FO3 where you are invisible or partially invisible while crouching). Just saying they should patch this so it doesn't lose the base description so we know what we're picking up. Btw, the Synth armor looks fucking hilarious, like literally some PVC plastic tubing haha

Laser sniper carried me through most of the game
You finished?!

The best guns are the ones with the Exploding perk and Bleeding perk. Seen some crazy videos. I haven't found neither yet myself.

My .50 cal shoots an extra bullet which is a pretty cool perk, but fuck some of these levels are still hard as hell, just when I thought things were getting a little too easy. Went to a place with a Queen mirelurk, probably half a dozen legendary/glowing mirelurks on top of regular mirelurks, another half a dozen legendary raiders on top of regular ones and one in power armor, all in close combat situations in one building. Had no clue what I was getting into when I got in there so my ammo was next to nothing for all my best weapons I thought I was just gonna scavenge a few things and bounce. Had to tough it out with a .45 pipe pistol and a few shotgun shells I picked up off dead raiders. I had to use so many chems, my dude is addicted to like four different things right now lol. Them mirelurk queens are no joke when four other mirelurks plus the annoying baby ones are attacking you and you don't have a single stimpak on you.

Wouldn't it be obvious by the stats? Like wouldn't "light" be like a 15 then you'd be like "oh this must be medium cause it's 20 and this must be heavy cause its 25".or tell by weight? Thanks for explaining it though i had no clue the armor did that. Looks like all my armor is " light" looks like i need better armor. I get owned by missiles and grenades so easily if i don't have power armor on

I know you've spent a ton of time explaining shit... I've seen it but mostly glanced over it without meaning to digest the info ; i wanted to play blind with no help. A lot of the fun is in figuring shit out for yourself but some of this stuff is too convoluted and just wastes too much time til you figure it out. For instance you know you can just dump trash in your workbench and it uses it for building? I spent sooo much time dropping junk on the ground in huge piles then scrapping it all manually then i was building turrets and as i ran low on oil it automatically consumed an oil can to build it. Sorta pissed me off i didn't know that lol. Now i gotta see if I've been wasting time traveling to and from places to pick up junk and stuff or carry it to Sanctuary, and see if since all my settlements are connected i can leave it all spread out. I guess that'd be the same as having feeder settlements. Going to go back and read your posts

Not really because some mods weigh more and some mods are meant to lighten the armor. I mean if it's some really high stats you figure it's either sturdy or heavy but again no way to be certain.

I guess leather armor is better against energy weapons. Metal armor better against ballistics. Not sure about Synth armor (only the helmet is dope, I wear that with all black "shadowed" leather armor and usually road leathers under it.

Haha yeah there is a lot of small details they didn't bother to explain. All of my posts though have been just covering the small details and basics so I never post anything major and definitely not spoilers, just little helpful hints because it's all overwhelming at first and some of it is confusing so I figure we all can post little tips like about crafting, figuring out armor, mods, etc.

For real i don't even think they explained junk is automatically salvaged when crafting once the raw materials run out. And as long as you have your supply lines linked, all junk at all settlements is pooled and will salvage once raw mats run out, even though it's not displayed. Also say you need 1 oil and it breaks down an item with 1 oil and 2 steel, the leftover steel or whatever raw materials are returned to the workbench even though it's not displayed anywhere.

But food and water isn't pooled... You still got to go grab it from each settlement it seems. All the wording makes it seem like linking settlements pools ALL resources, and seems like caps and food and water earned at other settlements from stores eventually feeds back to you at sanctuary, so i had these visions of becoming like The Crimson Caravan basically but it doesn't seem to work that way. It seems linking is only useful for making your raw crafting materials and junk available at every workbench, but not guns and armor and food and stuff. They're specific to area workbenches. Also say you "store" something like store turrets and beds at your work bench at sanctuary, then go to some other settlements you can't just plop down the stored turrets and beds. Only at sanctuary,or whatever specific place you stored it at. I dunno maybe i was way too high early on in the gameplay but a lot of this stuff doesn't seem clear enough

Ppl may have figured this out but when i was building that tower i realized you can build shack stairs to elevate up, attach "small floors" to the stairs they "snap" automatically to the stairs like in that game "The Forest" but they don't actually have to have supporting foundations, then you can "snap" floors and walls to those too. So stair yourself up a couple stories , then snap regular floors to them into a huge grid and then walls and a roof. If you don't care about aesthetics or realism this is a really easy way to create huge flat houses that float above the ground lol. I did it at the boat house cause the ground is all jacked up, the inside of the house you can barely fit like 10 beds so i built a 3x3 house 4 stories in the air above the actual house, threw 12 beds in it. It's great for keeping your settlement compact.

I'm cringing at all the prefab "large metal shacks" that ive used that are huge and ugly and hard to place down and you can barely fit beds in. I could've just been building perfect square houses using shack foundations or just floating them in the air with no foundations, multiple stories even. Shit if i knew that i would've built like a 6 story house / tower perfectly squared up over the sanctuary workbench area, then walled it off, put one huge defense tower on either side of it or just build small floor skirts around the edges of each floor then put like 9 turrets each level lol tiwer of death

Yeah that's what I meant when I said only junk (materials) are shared. Early on I thought all the work benches would be shared too, so I dumped some guns at a work station at a settlement that I wanted to use later and thought they'd show up at Sanctuary Hills. Took me a minute to figure out which settlement I actually dumped them at.

Yeah building isn't effected by gravity I learned that right off that bat building a second floor that just went on forever with nothing under it. Scrapped it all of course because it looked ridiculous. There are some cool areas you can build though, like the farm with the robots, forgot the name, its under a highway. If you build high you can get up to the highway, both levels and build some shit up there. I made a cool tree house at another joint. But fuck all that, spent way too much time building I'm doing missions now and exploring.

Yeah i definitely need to be exploring more, magazines seem to really kick ass i need to find more of those and also find bobbleheads. Also maybe it's time to up the difficulty; i was playing earlier and cleared out like 15 raiders in 1-2 shots each lol it was ridiculous

The higher the difficulty the more legendary enemies which also means more legendary drops. I have it on very hard, Raiders are usually pussies though in general. I may bump it to survival at some point but some areas are still pretty hard, I never use power armor though and mainly use pistols and my sniper rifle.

I have one tip though if you don't want to be over powered as fuck, it has to do with a minor companion. His name is Mcready, if you roll with him until you get his max approval or whatever you get his perk, but don't get it. The perk is glitched. It's supposed to give you a 20% increase of landing a headshot in VATS, but the programmers fucked up and accidentally added two zeros lol so you actually get a 2000% increase of landing a headshot which means of course you'll get it every time, no matter the distance. I purposely avoided this since I read about it, won't use him as a companion until they patch it (seems like one of the lamer companions anyway imo).

ive just been rolling with the dog the entire time lol. but its getting annoying i swear its in the AI for the dog to go run off if you're overencumbered, im alwasy chasing that fucker down and when i try to hand him stuff he literally turns his nose up at me and groans. like wtf, fuck you dogmeat, i coulda roasted you on a spit you fuck you're a liability more than anything always barking and charging at shit. thank god companions cant die that dog has died hundreds of times lol
