Mac Dre was about to blow up in 1992, the same time E-40 began his surge to the top. Unforunately, he went to prison and that was a wrap.

(2004)
Mac Dre was the one who was bringing a different element to the bay. The Thizz Movement was well on its way to taking off. There was no one in the bay at the time Thizzell Washington came out that had the creative nitch Dre had. He was killed, which brought even more attention to the movement and getting the young cats more on the whole "Hyphy" thing.

In a nutshell if you ask me, E-40 would not be where he is right now if it wasnt for Mac Dre. His death contributed greatly to the awareness of this music and its popularity. Once again, Mac Dre did not get to the top because of something but E-40 did.

Yeah I think that he's kind of takin all of Dre's ideas. He was never talkin this hyphy shit until Dre's passed away. Back in the day the Funk Mobb was dissin Dre's camp on their album. I heard that The romper room gang didn't get along wit 40'S camp. Out of all the years these dudes been in the game I only heard them collab on one song. Hubba rock. I was so suprised when I heard it. Dre and 40 always been my favorite rappers in the bay. Imagine if they had ever put out a album together? Its obvious they were some issues between the two. I was suprised when Lil Bruce started fuckin wit Dre.

Ya'll doin too much. 40 don't owe Dre shit! 40 has been a veteran in this game for 14 years+, making hit after hit for the Bay. 40 put it down while Mac Dre was in jail and if it wasn't for 40, there wouldn't of been no hot Rap scene out here for Dre to come back to. Besides, 40 is putting it down for the Hypy movement, not the Thizz movement. Dre ain't got nothing to do with the Hyphy Movement as that came out of Oakland and I never even heard Mac Dre yell hyphy before. If anything, 40 owes a little credit to the Federation and Keak, but niggas be on Dre's nuts just coz he's dead.
