I mean how the fuck did Nump get nominated for song of the year?
And how is the Pacific-Division nominated for best group when they haven't yet released a c.d.?

Now T.C. is a homie of mine but it don't make sense for Pacific-Division to be nominated at this time. I think the Bars awards is a sick idea. But they should have some sort of serious criteria.

Well i assume they are just added whatever got requested the most...but they need to use their own logic in the final voting, maybe some type of committee that can decide on things as well as taking fans votes into account....If Scweez wins as best latin artist and cats who obviously dont deserve the awards are in the finals I wont take it seriously.

No not at all. many reason why but this " award" show is nothing but a bunch of political ass people in the bay game trying too be popular and going too lengths too make sure they are. i can care less about this shit, its not legit. nothin.

^ is that why your promoting and asking people to vote for you? i like your show but your contradicting yourself, and im sure if you were leading in the best radio personality category you wouldnt feel the same.

i think its just a way for bay artists to get recognized for their accomplishments throughout the years...i mean if you call it a popularity contest, well then thats pretty much any awards show. its just a way to be rewarded and recognized for all the work you put in... this year will be bigger than last i think, since shit is poppin more than ever. If labels or media see that someone won an award it might make them more appealing..

Some of the nominees dont make no sense at all..

I mean Haji springer and nump are both nominated for best new artist and the so hood video is getting more votes then the big rich video..

good point, however im not gonna be promoting it anymore, because its funny how anytime someone goes too vote for me they get all theese wiered error messages and when some other " radio-personallitys" get voted on it just goes through perfect, now i aint saying thats thats intentional. but its just funny how all theese people were put on in the begininng ( more so the people who are winning) and OTHER people was put on later and cant catch up. i meen it makes sense too put on everyone and leave everyone, im just curious why rick lee is winning when really winning like that when he hasnt even done a solid mixtape like dj erock or dj rah 2k. did tito bell even do a mixtape this year? i dunno everythings just rolled up into relationships and it makes u think why are theese people up there and why do they have so many votes. i dunno what too believe

Its just a voting game....thats why I feel the votes should only be factored into the final decisions and not just the only thing they use to decide who wins...I could be nominated and just get 3000 people to vote for me and that dont necessarily make me the best artist.

exactly, its a popularity contest, end of discussion, if we wanted too know who's the best rookie rapper look at the numbers, if you wanna know who does the best mixtape, look at sales.. etc etc etc

horrible voting system... great idea. i'm not gonna sit here and tell u how it could be better but based off the voting right now its a joke! whoever has the best internet marketing wins. me and quinn and whoever else at DD can sit there on quinn's myspace and post up bulletins all day to his 35,000 friends but we got better shit to do. of course it would be nice to win an award but we have bigger goals right now.

Its nice to have a bay area rap awards. I woulda had a few more different catergories like:

BEST BAY AREA WOOD RAPPER
HOTTEST LABEL IN THE BAY
mixtape of the year
BAY AREA journalist of the year
BAY AREA promoter of the year
AND A FEW MORE....

The "new artist" roster is funnystyle ..a few of those artist been droppin music for half a decade.

The mix tape section is all right. But i dont agree on all the nominess either.

And whats the proper definition of "bay area underground artist" these days??

You forgot "LIL CONER" for best LATIN artist...

grammys, academy awards, mtv music awards are also just popularity contests too. billboards is really the only award show that should probably count. but this BARS awards is an awesome thing for the bay. first off, it shines a light on what we've been tryin to do. second it gives a venue where just about anybody whos anybody in the bay music scene will be there. there are a few glitches here and there, but are you seriously saying the bay would be better without it? thats crazy to me. this is an awesome event for any artist who's nominated and should be just as fun and exciting for the fans of bay area rap. where the fuck else are you gonna have a red carpet with e-40, hammer, psd, celly cel, young dru, keak, fab, yuk and the mob figaz? likle i said, it may not be perfect, but its a start in the right direction. once they get the kinks out of it, it will rival any of those other awards shows. if i had my choice of watching the grammys or watching the BARS, i'll take BARS all day.
