BULLSHIT. RAP HAS ALWAYS BEEN URBAN. THE BEASTIE BOYS ARE LUKY TO EVEN HAD THE CONNECTS THEY HAD, LIKE RIK RUBE AND RUSSELL SIMMONS(AND RUSS'S BROTHA WHO WAS ALSO THE BEASTIE BOYS PRODUCER AND PART OF THE "AFRO'S").
I said they were rappin' before it was a KNOWN part of any culture, and I still stand by that. Rick Rube and Simmons were lucky to have them as well, you know how many albums they sold? Probably more then any other rap artist at that time.

RAP CD'S COLLECTIN' DUST IS IMPLYIN' SOMETHIN'. DON'T LISTEN TO RAP NO MORE IS IMPLYIN' SOMETHIN'.
I never said I didn't listen to rap any more, and if I did, then I take it back. I used past tence when talking about listening to rap music, and I mentioned a "stack of dusty cd's" not because I didn't listen to it anymore, but because it isn't my music of choice right now... and your telling me im being assumptive?
EDJ said:
OH, SO NOW IT'S, "NOT AS MUCH AS I USED TO" AS OPPOSED TO "I DON'T LISTEN TO RAP N-E-MORE"?
Where did I say that I didn't listen to rap anymore? I listen to alot of ROCK music, I have plenty of dusty rock cd's as well...
EDJ said:
YOU DIDN'T LISTEN TO RAP AT ONE POINT. AND YOU SAID BY YOUR POST YOU DON'T LISTEN TO RAP NO MORE.
Again, I do not remember saying that I don't listen to rap anymore. If I did, then I take it back, that is not true. Yes, at one point I didn't listen to anything, but
1. I still listen to rap and
2. I listen to other types of music that I didn't listen to before, so no, I didn't revert back to anything. I don't have to be "down" with the african-american culture in order to be a true fan of rap music. There is nothing but negetivity from that type of music anyways, its a poison for every african-american child in this nation, you shouldn't pride yourself so much for supporting and defending it.

NO I FEEL THAT N-E-BODY THAT WAS NEVA INVOLVED IN PREDOMINANT NUBIAN SUBCULTURE AND THEN CAME IN AND THEN TREAT THE SHIT AS A TREND OR A FAD IS ONE. IF YOU IN, THEN STAY IN. FUK THAT FLIP-FLOP SHIT.
I can't help it if the music doesn't appeal to me as much as it used to. I don't go out of my way to be down with any type of culture, not white nor black. I just live my life, listen to what I like, and do what I enjoy.
EDJ said:
CAUSE NOW IT'S PART OF BLAK CULTURE AND IS A BOND WE SHARE WITH YAW WHITE PEOPLE SINCE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU OWN IT.
Isn't it great that we can share something as big as this?
EDJ said:
CAUSE WE TOOK OVER AND CHANgED SHIT AND STILL CHANgIN' SHIT.
Why would you get a big head over something like this? Talkin about you took over and your still changing it. Who do you think drafted you, teaches you, and owns the team you play on? You havent taken shit over, your just being exploited, right HERSEY? Anyways, that wasn't a very nice way of replying to me, because now it seems as though you think white people have to dominate rap in order not to get shit-treatment from you guys just for involving themselves. Why don't you accept them, feel good about another race being passionate about parts of your culture, help them and accept them like it was basketball, which is a "bond we share".
EDJ said:
THAT'S FUCCED UP. AND YOU WANT IT TO HAPPEN DON'T YOU?
Nah, I don't want it to happen. A million eminem's running around doesn't sound like fun. If we did take over, I wouldn't be on a message board telling people we dominated it and are changing the game. I would accept it as a part of both cultures.
EDJ said:
NOT ALL TRUE. WHEN A NIggA JOIN N-ETHANg YOU DEEM AS "WHITE CULTURE", WE STOOD BY IT, gOT OTHA BLAK FOLK LIKIN' IT, DOMINATED IT, AND STILL STAND BY IT. IN YOUR CASE, I DIDN'T SAY YOU WAS A WIggA CAUSE YOU SIMPLY LIKE RAP BUT FOLLOWED RAP AS A TREND OR A FAD INSTEAD OF LOVIN' AND LIVIN' IT.
Did I not just tell you that I didn't listen to rap because of a trend, but that the music appealed to me and I enjoyed the sound of it? I don't have to listen to it forever in order to have not been a wigga, thats your own made up rule. I don't listen to any music for any other reasons then how it appealed to me or made me feel. Never did the thought of what culture it came from process in my mind. I listen to what I like, and thats all their is to it. If im a wigga because i used to listen to rap, yet don't anymore, then what do you call an african who doesn't listen to rap like they used to.
EDJ said:
NOT THE TIME OR DATE. BUT THAT THEY WAS DOIN' IT BEFORE RAP WAS DEEMED PART OF NUBIAN SUBCULTURE? RAP HAS ALWAYS BEEN URBAN MUSIC DOMINATED BY BLAK FOLK.
Don't ask me what I meant, go read exactly what I typed. I don't need to repeat myself. Read the first part of this reply.
EDJ said:
NOT JUST THE SKIN COLOR, BUT HIS ESSENCE, MENTALITY, AND CULTURALIZATION.
That still has nothing to do with anything. The Beastie Boys were making rap music in the 80's, thats it.
EDJ said:
THAT NIggAS NEED TO HAVE THEY OWN LABEL AND QUIT LETTIN' THESE DEVILS TAKE THEY SCRILL AND TELL THEM HOW THEY SHOULD RUN THEY MUSIC.
Did you just refer to white people as "Devils"? The true EDJ has just come out, you fucking racist.
EDJ said:
FUK THAT, NIggAS NEED TO START STICCIN' TOgETHA THAT WAY WE HAVE OWNERSHIP IN OUR OWN AND WE WON'T BE PLAYED FOR PUPPETS BY PUPPETEERS.
Yea, fuck the white man, just look out for yourselves. Preach on about how your getting fucked over by every white man, but by all means posses the mentality to leave him out when furthering your own success.
