That's true, but your reacting to something in the past while trying to change the future. In this process your going to cause another reaction, by WHITE people. This will go back and fourth until someone is smart enough to realize it's happening.

The situation you proceeded to talk about is fucked up, im not arguing that these statistics are horrifying, but why are you going to hold the "WHITE" race accountable for what sub-class racial groups do? There are many of us who will befriend a "BLACK" man as quickly as we would a "WHITE" man. We live our every day life and treat everyone with dignity and respect, while people like you call me a RACIST and a WHITE SUPREMACIST because I won't let that shit ride. We can both sit here and completely agree when conversing about the KKK, but when you generalize the "WHITE" race, you are including me, my sister, my mother, who couldn't be further from what you accuse me of.

When you have your African American leaders up on a podium, talking about how we can advance the African American race, one of the greatest concerns is whether or not the "WHITE" race is listening, and willing to participate. The most important part, is for African Americans to unite, second comes the willingness, of those who have the power to make this happen. How are these ("WHITE") people in power going to make something like this happen, when they see the world like I do, and you can trust that their perception is not far off. Look at it like this, and im puting it in lamens terms (for everyone reading)... Imagine two guys standing on a 50 high cliff looking down into a deep river. One man says to the other, "hey man, just jump off". The guy replies saying, "alright, only if you do it". "Nope, sorry, im not jumping off this cliff". Im sure your probably scratching your head on that one, but it sybolizes what im talking about here with hypocrisy. You want one thing from those that have the ability to give it to you, but you wouldn't offer the same things in return to those to whom you have the ability to give it to. Without a fair exchange, and the true existance of equal opportunity, things will never change.

I came across this in the hall way on the way to one of my classes. Its a pamphlet about a course offered here at the U of U called "Whiteness Theory and Education." Might be kind of interesting...
Whiteness theory seeks to make white cultural assumptions and privileges visible so that whites do not assume that their own position is neutral and generic. It is consistent with the aims of multicultural theory but is also distinct from multiculturalism. Multicultural theory involves fostering an appreciation of cultures other than the dominent culture; in its more radical forms, multiculturalism also involves problematizing the assumptions of the dominent culture. Because multicultural approaches are concerned with displacing white culture from is position of dominance, they usually do not focus on white culture as a distinctive culture or identity. Whiteness theory focuses specifically on whiteness as a set of cultural practices and discourses, an identity, and a position of privilage--a position that, to a considerable extent, is gained at the expense of people of color.
Whiteness theory is particularly important for educators, because white cultural norms are systematically enforced (usually with out any recognition that they are white norms) in the schools. Teachers and administrators who can deconstruct the whiteness of their practices, policies, and pedagogy (including teachers and administrators who are not white) are better positioned to see why prevailing education patterns might not work for many students. Even white educators who are fully committed to multiculturalism often fail to see how their own investments in white culture as a universal culture get in the way of good intentions vis-a-vis students of color.

Damn Epidemic, are you really letting EDJ get to you that bad??? I mean I dont agree with everything he says. But I think that he has formulated his opinions based on what he has seen much the same as I believe you have. I enjoyed reading this thread when EDJ, SOLO and a few others were going back and forth with Nitro the Guru. They were saying what they felt was right and for a while it was respectful. Now with you in here in has resorted to bickering and childish name calling. Is EDJ really pissing you off that bad???? This is the internet right?
