Basically. I'll lay it out like this.

Categories of wiggas:

1. Suburban, Malibu Most Wanted, Doo Rag Whiteboy, Bullshit Frontin Cracker. You have seen them. You know them. Parents drive SUVs, go to Starbucks, and Golf. SOLO earlier tried to categorize all wiggas as category 1. Don't be fooled, though. They exist, and possibly even make up the majority, however do not make up all wiggas. Black folks, anyone from the hood, or anyone down with the hipp-hop culture basically laughs at category 1s. They must have Thick Skin, though, since the next day after being laughed off the block, you will see them back in full force, Escalades on 80 inches, Sean Johns, and slang straight outta Rap City, though they don't have anyone convinced. Category 1s usually hang out with like-minded individuals for protection and friendship.

2. In-Between wigga. He might be from the burbs, or a low-middle income area, but he will often kick it out in the city instead of choosing to just occupy the burbs. He likely has some minority friends, some black friends, though still has many white friends. He often slows down on the bling, dressing definitely hip-hop but not overdone. Black people, people from the hood, etc. are more likely to accept in-between wiggers, as they possibly have seen harsh realities whether by choice or fate, understand a bit more about hip-hop/the black environment than just "Black people are gangsta dog". They may speak in Ghettobonics, but their use is a bit more believable. It is quite possible they heard their slang coming from its actual source, and thus come off a bit less cartoonish. Not all urban peoples/hip-hop oriented black folks, etc. will accept category 2s, but they will likely still be greeted better than Cat 1s.

3. "Real" wigga. Most likely grew up in the hood or around black folks. Group of friends most likely majority Black or minority, Mexican, etc. Can translate and fluently speak full ebonics, even during chickenhead catfights in which very rapid speaking is employed. Is comfortable around minorities, is still second guessed but not as often or in a joking manner. Is very admired by category 1s and 2s.

It is the dream of all wiggas to become a category three. By classifying those around them as 2 or 1, they believe they are stepping up the ladder to legitimacy. Just like "If he saw a new star, he must be an astronomer", "if he points out a fake wigga, he must know what being real is all about".

Category 1s are the most annoying, most flamboyant, etc. Category 2s are more likely to one day grow past their wigga ties, and Category 3s are most likely to culturally remain wiggas for life. Category 1s may change as well with age and time, however this is more directly related to how financially successful they are. When living at home with the folks and lacking real responsibility, a category 1 will feel the need to physically confront people who bump into him at the store, cut him off on the highway, etc. It is a sad existence for a cat 1. He is in a lifelong pursuit of that which, simply because of his suburban environment, his lack of minority friends, and his overall lack of friends, is unattainable. Cat 3s are the least likely to make fun of 1s and 2s, though in public they don't like to be seen conversing with 1s.

I stated that I view them as falling into one of two categories. Then Nitro objected to my characterization of the second category, and we got off on a tangent about white rap fans and white supremacy. At this point in the discussion we were ignoring the first category and debating only about the second category. Personal experience, my Professor Xavier-like powers of observation...shit I don't know. I think cause I been on all sides and seen all types. One thing Moe pointed out earlier in this thread was that unexposed white people often think of black folks as "gangsta"...a very common misconception. It rings true in a broader sense than just gang membership...I've had white people avoid me and try not to befriend me because they thought if shit went bad I would have all my "black friends" go after them.
