so all im getting is david carr wants to sit on the sideline and cheer for a winner and get checks....no shit the raiders sucked last year... he wanted to feel whats its like to win and not contrubute cool fine.peace.. but i dont care what team im on as long as i know im wanted and can compete to start.. thast what winners do..he might play on a winning team now but that dont mean jack..
Thank you! I could be wrong but that's what I am thinking. The Raiders already have backup Qb's. So I am thinking when they contacted Carr (with intentions on seeing if he wanted a starting job so they could possibly draft CJ) he probably wasn't interested in starting.

But the bottom line is... he probably wanted to be a backup so he probably had his agent search for teams thay were looking for a backup (hence: Seattle and Carolina). He doesn't have the desire to start. Think about it.. he's already collected over $30 mill. That fool is a bust!

Again so all the coaches that didn't even want to visit with Oakland or str8 turned the job down just wanted to stay assistants right?

Same scenario

It makes more sense to me that he decided he was tired of being a part of a "rebuilding" franchise, so he rather sign with a team more likely to win right away.

All u are doin is specalating, the last good QB that went to oakland his career went to shit. You really think Carr wants to go another 2 win team? Even if they got Tom Brady i dont see your team doin much of anything....

Naa man I am not saying that. This situation is different.

Jeff Garcia got signed to the Bucs to compete with Simms for the starting qb position.

David Carr signed with Carolina to be a backup and hold the clipboard. I think that's what he wanted. Maybe the Raiders were looking for a starter just incase they wanted to take a shot at CJ. So there was a mismatch... that's probably why he didn't even schedule a visit.

If Jake struggles, look for Carolina to put Carr in. Jake could always get hurt too. I'm saying if Carr gets a shot, he could out perform Jake.

Exactly!

But I don't think the Raiders rebuiling. Maybe Carr thinks they are though. I think they're "upgradin" like Beyonce. If they were rebuilding then they should trade the number one pick and trade down for multiple picks. I think all of our defensive starters are coming back so we need a few upgrades on the offensive side of the ball like coaching, qb, offensive line...

Look at the 49ers a few years ago when they drafted Alex Smith. They had the worst offense and defense statistically in the same season...LOL.... so they needed to rebuild.

Yeah Jake does get hurt. We'll see if Carr can come in and out perform Jake. I don't think he can but we'll see. He'll probably get a shot.

I was reading some of the Carolina's fans reactions to the signing and they seem real juiced up about the signing considering he's coming in as a backup. If Delhomme struggles a bit....guess who they're going to be asking for? This was a smart move on Carr's part. Carr is too young to be a backup just for the sake of being on a good team. He and his agent know what they're getting into

Aight fellaz... keep the opinions, predictions coming... now this is football talk. Ya feel me? I say Carr will struggle anywhere he goes or when he does play. I could be wrong just like I was last year when I talked shit about the Saints. So we'll see...

I gotta watch the Panthers because they're my sons favorite team and Steve Smith is his favorite player.

Now that's true.... Weinke was fucking garbage. Good luck Panther fans. Hopefully y'all won't have to put Carr in though.
