I have been trying to bite my tongue and all that jazz but SERIOUSLY????
HE DIDN'T GO THERE BECUASE THEY FUCKING SUCK! IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WANTING TO BE A BACK-UP...HE JUST GOT DONE WITH A SUCKY TEAM IN HOUSTON, THE LAST THING A FREE AGENT WANTS TO DO IS LOSE AGAIN! HIS COACH THERE LAST YEAR WAS KUBIAC, YOU DON'T THINK KUBES TOLD HIM HOW BAD THAT TEAM IS, WHAT HE'S IN FOR WHEN IT COMES TO THE TEAM MANAGMENT AS OPPOSED TO OTHER TEAMS?
IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WANTING TO BE A BACK-UP.....I FOR 1 ACTUALLY ADMIRE HIM FOR A MOVE LIKE THIS...HE IS TAKING LESS MONEY AND A BACK-UP ROLE TO WIN!!!! That shows he would rather win than be a peon and scapegoat for a losing cause! I admire anyone who takes winning over moeny because thats for the love of the sport!
Naaaa if they did draft Russell they still would have to worry just like the other 31 NFL teams. It's a team game. Who ever is the qb, he won't be asked to win games by himself.... just manage the game and take care of the ball. Mistakes like fumbles, INT's will happen. It's all about adjusting from the collegiate level to the pros. All 3 qb's taken in the first round of last year did pretty good adjusting. They didn't pull any stinkers like Alex Smith (1TD vs 11 INT's). That bum still hasn't figured out how to throw more TD's than INT's.
Defenses change at the line of scrimmage but so does the offense. QB's do call audibles. It's all about coaching if you ask me. The Raiders as a team have to be prepared.

thascary 1, I disagree with you here. I see your point but I don't think that's the case with David Carr. Houston invested a lot in David Carr. They thought so highly of him that they passed on Young, Cutler, and Leinhart. When they (Houston's management) found out from Kubiak that this broken Carr can't be fixed it got sold and they bought a Schaub with less miles, running in better condition. David's mechanics are flawed!
And the Panters are a good team (my sons favorite team) but they aren't locked to win anything. He could go there and they could lose just as any team he signed with.

so all im getting is david carr wants to sit on the sideline and cheer for a winner and get checks....no shit the raiders sucked last year... he wanted to feel whats its like to win and not contrubute cool fine.peace.. but i dont care what team im on as long as i know im wanted and can compete to start.. thast what winners do..he might play on a winning team now but that dont mean jack..
