^Don't even really have to say "yo" before "hablo" cause it's imlied with the ending on the verb hablar. I'm suprised I remember anything like that cause I haven't studied spanish in about 6 years.
And Tadou....I don't wanna burst your bubble about what you think you know about the culture but did you stay on campus? I mean living arrangements, they had a dorm for you or what? Cause one of my good friends lived in Mazatlan in an apartment (just to live there) for like 3-4 months. That's how you learn about the culture...You live it for real, not on a fuckin study abroad trip. Or at least don't have your nose stuck in the air like you know more than anyone cause you lived in a dorm at a school in a different country. Go hang out with the people that live there and kick it with the people at clubs and shit that don't go to school and aren't American. In other words, hang out with people you usually wouldn't.

Northern Mexico is Nomadic. Southern Mexico is Chaotic. The Altiplano is where Mariachi, Tequila, and all of the things we most identify with Mexico come from.
I repeat: I learn Spanish and French because I want to teach. Nobody in their right mind would get a Bachelor's in Swahili and then try to teach it at the secondary level. It is hard enough finding Swahili classes in college.
You don't learn Czech, Nahuatl, Italian, Dutch, or languages like these to become a High School Teacher. You learn one of the core languages--Spanish, French, German, Russian, Chinese, Japanese--and then you specialize in others.
My first priority is not being broke. Let's get that one straight.
If the Swahili movement is not being led by the time I have a MIT, Initial Teaching License, and a Full-Time job, then I will begin my work. Life giving you lemons does not mean you are not able to go out and find oranges and pears and apples. It is a matter of motivation. You are motivated by money and what "is"; i am motivated by knowledge and what "could be".
