Well if they spent marketing dollars they would need to sell even more albums to recoup that money.....but good looking out on the info.

i am doubting they recouped all their money.
Could be a very valid doubt. I`m not questioning that at all. Without looking at the actual data, all we can do is speculate. I`m just looking at a number that very well could have gotten Select-O out of the red.

If Beta is 50% of tha musician he used to be he's doper than 80% of tha industry....you dont just misplace and lose your talent.....
Sure you do. There are plenty of artists and producers who go south after awhile...it happens quite frequently in fact...

i got a good chuckle out of that lol. i know it's an opinion, but are you telling me his newer material is better than....
Well, that depends. Are you talking just context? If that is the case, most people are always gonna like his "horrorcore" theme shit from the SODS and Loaded days. I like that shit, too, but Lynch has evolved past all that kiddie shit and is on a whole other level. LBI, lyrically, is his best work album wise...but the beats were "meh" at best. If he had the production level he got from Loaded for that album, would have been an instant classic. His rhyme pattern, his metaphors, and the way he put his words together are far superior to Loaded...not even CLOSE. The problem is, people only want to hear his shock value or how fast he spits...that is only ONE aspect of his capabilities.

Maybe yo need to go back and really LISTEN to his newer shit.

blood on the rug part 2, thatz what i said, secondz away, and a few others??
All great songs, but lyrically, they dont hold a candle to his to-date shit.

How do you know? When was the last time you heard a new Beta beat? For all you know, he is terrible now.
Didn't beta produce the beat for "Its just me" off Ripgut Collectz? That songs was dope. I can think of a few beta beats in the last few years that were fire, different than 97 for sure, but fire nonetheless.

i understood what you were trying to say the first time. however, imo i haven't seen a big lyrical change in him. for what it is worth, my opinion is that he does a lot of random rhyming these days. his context has also more mainstream appeal nowadays, which i could care less, but all in all, the quality is nowhere near his older stuff. if i wanna judge an artist, i'd usually look at three things - flows/delivery/production (the lyrical aspect should be already prominent for this genre, more or less). in the end, what counts is that all of these should be in sync, otherwise something is always missing.
lastly, to me lynch's flow and delivery has fallen the fuck off. i'm not diggin it at all. he has a decent verse once in a while but that's about it.

Ya know I usaully respect alot of your posts but man I think you really aint knowin...His most recent shit is the illist spits I think I might have ever heard.
Territory,BREAK CAMP<<< Sounds like the nigga gets possesed in this track.
Welcome to my world, his vocabulary these days is far stronger n his delivery is hittin new peaks...we're just clouded with lazy lyrics n shitty production from the last goin on 10 years, but when he wants 2 gas the mic that nigga melts it like he never missed a beat.
It only makes sence 2 me that he's put out mostly nothin but bullshit...If I was one a the best rappers in the world and and put the best Gansgta Rap C.D's ever made jus have them stolen...that fools legacy got fucked.
I wouldnt really give a fuck no more either...n when I did make music id probly be a lil down.
But it looks like he finally got past it n he's got a new light on him now...tell you the truth i think he's jus holdin out on us n I think where gunna get a real record again...DAAM>DETOX

^^^^ Hmmmm I think maybe you got a point...
Now that you mention it maybe you right...its been a while since I heard content in the likes of Situation on dirty...did it n did it,went way,one a da last sicc,West Coast Parlae
But I like his shit better now...its like he mixed Season n Loaded in a pot.
And I always liked his songs tho where he kills it....Heataz,Die one by one,Corpse that came 2 Dinner.
I think the song "My Papers" was probably his best balance of both...n it looks like he headin in that kinda direction

y'all should upload or youtube one of his newer songs because, honestly, i was so disappointed that i just deleted whatever i heard. as far as i can remember, all those mixtapes and shit was pure garbage. what am i missing? i know that many don't like uthanizm, but to me that was the only decent release all these years. on that intro lynch rips it. too bad he doesn't spit like that time to time.

I would not consider that "kiddie shit", but to each his own. I personally consider that time Lynch's best work and when he knew how to make metaphors no problem. True creativity back then.

LBI was a long time ago by the way.

If Lynch wants to get on here and speak on the subject and post those details, that`s up to him. I don`t want to get into too much detail about his business matters. All I wanted to simply state was that his asking price was higher than that. For argument sake, it could show why either any deal never happened because maybe they thought he was asking too much, or it could help to shed light on his value in the game.

I know I pulled a politician move, but I hope it helped some anyway.
Lynch isn't going to get on here and post any factual details on any of his business deals... we both know that. I don't know what his asking price was all I was saying is I heard he was offered something like 100 g's.

Honestly if the man was asking for more than 100g's for an album at this current time than that is comedy. No way could he ever gross 100,000 independently at this time. When he was in his prime... P offered Ced exactly 100,000 for his contract and he was still under contract for like 2 albums still. Lynch doesn't have the same type of buzz like he had in the late 90's. So I don't know why he would even be trying to negotiate a deal for more than he could get way back when he was in his prime. All I can say is dude isn't to much up on the business end... or whoever is doing his deals and making the decisions.

Lynch has made some bad business moves over the years.... but this signing if he doesn't fuck it up somehow could be the turning point.

Being offered and asking are two different details. All I was stating is that he was asking for more. And I still believe he can gross $100,000 since his last album sold over 100,000 units. Independently, at Lynch`s level still, even if his next solo doesn`t push 100,000 units, depending how this deal is structured, he can reach that bread by selling less than half that. It all depends what the deal stipulates. And that is just by physical retail cds. Count in show money along with digital downloads, $100,000 really shouldn`t be that hard for Lynch, but it will highly depend on the quality of his album after waiting for so long. That might be the only draw back, if he lets the fans down.

I won`t argue that some of his latest business decisions haven`t been the greatest. We`re still cool as people, but our business ideologies are completely different. That`s why I`m with Cway and not still with Madesicc. If it were up to me, DAAM would have already dropped along with a mixtape back in 06-07. It is what it is though.

Like you said, hopefully this can be a turning point because at this point in his career, this could very well be an all chips in move. I hope his camp is ready for a solid push.
