I don't understand if Gamboa already signed a 2 year extension why would top rank want him to sign another 5 year extension? He's 30 years old that doesn't make sense, I never even heard of anyone being offered a 5 year extension. I don't think that's it I'm guessing money and make something with that Oner guy who makes arum look like a saint.

I don't know the whole thing is weird. Emmanuel steward said today he had no agreement to train gamboa for rios and he had no idea what was going on either.

All you need to do is read. Gamboa is promoted by Top Rank and Oner. From what Top Rank says Gamboa still has 2 years left on his contract, and Oner somehow got Gamboa to sign a 5 year extention with him last year. Meaning Gamboa is signed with Oner until 2016. Gamboa has two promoters in his pocket taking his money and he's not happy. If you would hate less and read what I actually post you would see that I already break it down for you. Now let's see how this plays out.

FYI, I heard Donaire contract is up with Top Rank at the end of the year and he's going to GBP again.

I understand why Gamboa would be mad about 2 different promoters taking money, but it's not TAKING........

it's a contract(s) that he signed and he knew or atleast was told the obligations.

This whole situation is no different that a "good" player in the NFL sitting out until he get's the contract he wants. I hate that shit in the NFL, and I hate this shit that Gamboa is pulling right now. You signed the contract, now live up to it.

Thanks for your infinite wisdom. I'm glad u have inside information that no other boxing reporter has and apparently you've seen the contracts first hand and not going off rumors posted on various message boards. Bigface the PED expert turned accountant we all thank you for your knowledge

It's not my fault I breakdown the Gamboa contract situation to your goofy hating ass. All you need to do is read between the lines cornball. The funny part about it is in 6 months when all that I breakdown for you turns out to be true like normal, are going to change the subject, or act like you was the one that break it all down, which is another thing you like to do. Who am I hating on? Gamboa is one of my favorite fighters, I was planning on going to this fight. The only fighter I like more is Hopkins.

The shit you're "breaking down" is internet rumors. What you posted was in fact a post from some guy on a different boxing website, which I've read. He even goes on to say in a later post he has no idea if the 5 year extension is true or not.

What we all know is Gamboa is unhappy about his contract(s). Everyone knows that. But you don't no show to your own press conference and hang with Mayweather instead. What he did is unprofessional and really effects his image negatively. HBO already invested money in promoting this fight and now HBO president is pissed off at Gamboa. You can read about it here. Gamboa should have went to the press conference and tried to work things out, instead of disappearing and not talking to anyone.

I'm not even going to talk to you about bradley-pac I already discussed that in the appropriate thread but of course you don't reply to any of my points as usual, total waste of time.

not on April 14th. I think Rios will likely fight someone else as HBO still wants to put on a show on that date, but Gamboa will have to work out his contract issues with Oner and/or Top Rank.

Gamboa hasn't even began training with a trainer. Originally it was thought that Emmanuel Stewart was training him, but Steward said a few days ago he never got an official agreement with Gamboa and they've never started training. So with just about a month to go and gamboa hasn't started training and doesn't officially have a trainer, it seems pretty unlikely to happen even if he were to come to an agreement to fight Rios.

yes i know all hes done blah blah blah just never been a fan and never enjoyed watching any of his fights maybe the trinidad fight but every single other fight is a snooze fest always hated his style of boxing that 1 punch then clinch and hold omg boring.

Obviously u didn't watch him earlier in his career when he was more of a seek and destroy type fighter. He's had to adjust his style post 40 years of age obviously a fighter at such an advanced age cannot maintain a fast pace like younger fighters. But what he's done post 40 is phenomenal. Watch his earlier career fights against glen johnson, Echols, etc and you'll see a fighter that had it all - speed, power, combination punching, amazing stamina, defense, counter punching...he did it all.

Check the dates I posted my breakdown before the rumors but nice try. I posted the rumors to support what I breakdown.
