The stance I took is the only thing I could have said? I'm sure there is some plane of existance where that makes snese to someone other than yourself, but not on this one, not here. I could have listed countless reasons why I like MMA more than boxing, but the point of my post was that they are simply opinions and wouldn't mean shit in comparing the two sports. It's like arguing the colors of shapes.

Ha I'm a fan of both, I'm just clowning.
Any of those pics can be easily reversed.
Just feeding the cancer.
Got it. I thought you were being serious Haha. I too like both boxing and MMA.

Not really boxing will still be popular when UFC really falls to shit, Boxing has proven for so many decades why its such a great sport while MMA is already losing its exitement already

So you're basing which sport is better on popularity? And how do you figure MMA has lost its excitement? That sounds like a personal opinion to me.

Boxing is a great sport, indeed.

I like boxing, but it's two last legs are Pacquiao (FUCK YEAH) & Mayweather. MMA still has a long way to go. Quote me on this, but MMA will surpass boxing tremendously someday.

I know a lot of people who train in a number of different martial arts. The primary reason that none of them will ever become professional boxers is because they focus on too many other disciplines, not because of their jaw. There is a difference between someone training strictly in boxing and someone who trains in BJJ, Muay Thai, Wrestling, Boxing/kickboxing, Karate, etc. Because the ground game exists, it becomes necessary for fighters to devote a significant amount of time (at the very least 50%) to wrestling and jiu-jitsu. This takes away from the developement of boxing skills.

I dont doubt that there ARE people who fail at boxing and resort to MMA (chances are they suck at that too) but for the most part, MMA is not a "fallback", it is a matter of preference. People choose MMA over boxing. If I had all the free time and money, I would choose to train in MMA.

in 2010 this debate shouldn't go on anymore. Two different sports. Who cares about popularity?! Did Golf die before Tiger Woods? No. Will it survive after him? Yes. Same goes with boxing and mma. Both will continue to have highs and lows. But the point is, both will co-exist. It wont stop. And the comment about boxing only has Pacquiao and Floyd. Well, who was pacquiao a few years ago? Not many people knew who he was. Point being, there will always be new stars that emerge. Same goes for MMA or any sport for that matter.

The boxing is dieing arguement has been going on for 100 years. I can post articles from 1910 talking about it's a dieing sport and losing popularity, etc. Boxing is a fuckin zombie then

It might have done those numbers but most people regret buying it and the only that sold that ppv was rashad and rampages hate for eachother. those kind of feuds don't happen to often. I seriously doubt some of yall even watched ufc in the 90's, its just not the same and to many gay ass rules obviously my opinion but ufc isn't gonna fold right away but in case u haven't noticed its not looking to good right now

I admit I was a big fan of the UFC in the 90's. To me, that was truly mixed martial arts. To see a Sumo vs 170 pound kick boxer. lol. I remember there were "no rules" except for eye gouging and nut shots. And even then it was only a $50 fine!! And those guys back then had to fight 2-3 times in one night. Those ppv's were almost always worth it (the only bad thing was when the guys would be on the ground for a half hour, that sucked).

Not saying the new rules are a bad thing, but as result you see a lot of more well rounded guys- jacks of all trades but masters of nothing. Except for the elite guys of course.
