Going to end in some brutal KO's I predict. Hopefully no upsets since these are three quickly rising stars in boxing.

First Fight:
Junior middleweight
James Kirkland (21-0, 18 KOs) vs Eromosele Albert (21-1, 10 KOs)
Kirkland has quickly developed a reputation as a knockout artist, with 16 of his 18 knockouts coming in the first three rounds.

Second bout:
junior middleweight
Alfredo Angulo (12-0, 9 KOs) vs Richard Gutierrez (24-1, 14 KOs)
Like James Kirkland, the slugging Angulo seeks recognition as the top junior middleweight in the world.

Main Event:
junior lightweight
Yuriorkis Gamboa (9-0, 8 KOs) vs Darling Jimenez (23-2-2, 14 KOs)
Gamboa, who won flyweight gold for Cuba at the 2004 Olympics, has earned widespread recognition as a powerful puncher after just one year of pro experience. Jimenez was a four-time Golden Gloves champion as an amateur and has KO'd eight of his last nine opponents.

You need to. Gamboa is the best boxing prospect by far. The guy is going to be a huge star, quite possibly P4P king. I mean, he has 9 pro fights and already has a Main Event on HBO and will likely have a title fight lined up within a year.

James Kirkland is a maniac in the ring. Extremely fun to watch. I've been watchin him for a minute now and saw him fight live a couple years ago in Tacoma. He's a beast!

I haven't seen much of Alfredo Angulo though.

somethin bout showtime bothers me too. But I'm starting to like their commentary better then HBO. If you watch the Marquez/Vazquez fights, they actually are calling the fight. Whereas HBO they're always talking about some other shit unrelated to what's going on in the ring, then bam KO occurs or whatever.

I got Kirkland getting upset by Eromosele. Besides Albert losing to a random ass fighter dudes looked fairly impressive recently. Gamboa is going to annihilate Jimenez and I'd like to see what Angulo can do when he doesn't completely steamroll his opponent. Should be a dope night.

I'd like to thank 2-0 sixx for posting that Conyers vs. Kirkland fight...possibly the funniest 3 mins of boxing I've seen.

@ 2-0 or Heyzel: I want to read some good boxing literature/history/bio but the shit I see in most book stores looks weak. You guys have any suggestions?

No love for the naner? Don't trust my reading skills? Tunney is a dope book. Desribe both the careers of Gene Tunney and Jack Dempsey and the lead up to their two historic fights. Also shows boxing politics of the 1920s with Dempsey not defending his title against black fighters.

Atlas: From The Streets To The Ring - A Son's Struggle To Become A Man
If you like Teddy Atlas as a commentator or if you liked him as a trainer shit is highly recommended .. even explains that scar his face.

Hands of Stone: The Life and Legend of Roberto Duran <~~ enough said.

Charley Burley, The Life & Hard Times of an Uncrowned Champion is heat especially if you don't know who Charley Burley is. After one of Burley's fights SRR was SUPPOSEDLY quoted as saying "I'm too pretty to fight Charley Burley".
