Gamboa has more defensive holes then swiss cheese but most of the people on this site loves dude and think he can do no wrong. Put Broner in with Gamboa or Rios and bet he will give them a boxing lesson.

Rios throws too much for Broner's style. Broner drops back constantly. Very little side movement and he can't fight back with pressure. I think Rios would grind him down.

Gamboa is too fast. That snail from Argentina was able to land cleanly. Gamboa's shots would be a laser towards his face.

I'm just don't like Broners lean back with his hands down defense. Someone is going to catch him really good one day. Other than that, he's good. Really he's about Devon Alexander good though. That level.

well broner is still very young, so for him to be "alexander good" at the age of 21 or 22 is pretty impressive. He still has time to learn and fix some of his game. He idolizes floyd in every way and he's admitted he tries to fight like him, so I think that's where some of his holes are. Floyd (and Andre Berto) were sitting ringside, so I'm sure that boosted his ego even more. He does drop straight back in lines which like you said isn't good against a guy who can bang, he'll get caught if he keeps doing that. Would be funny if he teamed up with Mayweather Sr.

Rios vs Broner would be a great fight. I certainly would favor Rios at this point, but it certainly would be a huge statement if Broner could get the W.

Just got a groupon email with buy-one get-one tickets for the Mares vs Agbeko fight.
It's under the local deals for Orange County. Ticket sales must be super slow.

I'd be surprised if more than a couple thousand people showed up.

under the radar fight but on that undercard is Vic Darchinyan vs Anselmo Moreno, for Moreno's WBA bantamweight title. Should be interesting.

I think the fact that it's the same day as Cotto vs Margarito, takes away some of the sales. And of course none of them are really that big, although Darchinyan has had some pretty decent crowds from time to time.

Broner is the future of boxing I know you guys hate it but dude has really boxing skills offense and defense.
Damn I just realized I didn't comment on the Broner fight. Yea, he looked good, really good. The cat he fought just looked really slow and couldn't defend himself at all against Broner. I really didn't like the way Broner fought round 2 though! He didn't really do shit that round.

I don't know about the future or boxing, but he is a very good fighter for his age. I want to see him take on a decent commodity though.

lol sure one uppercut from Broner and Gamboa non-defense having ass is going to sleep. Rios is way to easy to hit, but he has heart so that would be a great fight for Broner. But your boy Gamboa will get his shit rocked fighting Broner. How many times have Gamboa hit the floor in his career? Broner has the power to KO Gamboa and Gamboa defense sucks ass.

well the only thing about that fight is Broner is the bigger fighter. He's fighting at 135 now and Gamboa is still at 126.

But comparing the two, Gamboa has fought much better opposition than Broner, so Broner still has a lot to prove as far as I'm concerned, whereas Gamboa has proved he's a top fighter. Broner looked great against shitty opponents in his last two fights, but struggled against Ponce prior. He's still young though so like I said he will improve. I would certainly favor Gamboa as of right now but that unknown factor is reality I must admit, which is how Gamboa will look at 135 pounds. He's only 5'5 with short arms so I reckon it will be tough at the higher weights.

Go watch and see how many times he tried to land that exact same uppercut. It took him about 10 tries throughout the fight to land that. Half way Floyd stance, drops it about half way and pauses, then dips and throws. I'm sure he saw an opening for it, but it was a dead give away.

Gamboa isn't my boy. I think he's green too. I just think his offense his too much for Broner.

Gamboa's defense is much improved now compared to earlier in his career when he was a wild fighter. He's tamed that part of his game a great deal and he doesn't get hit often, hence he doesn't suffer flash knock downs anymore.

I never really seen Gamboa hurt. Sure he was dropped numerous times (flash knockdowns) but he always got up at the count of one. Most all of them were him just being off balance.

Deontay Wilder also scored a nice 1st round KO, which HBO didn't show. Check it out, go to 1:10:

20 fights 20 KO's. All against bums so far. I really hope Wilder turns out to be something special. 6'7, 215 pounds, 84″ reach. Would be great for Heavyweight boxing.

I think it's time they have him fighting better opposition, I don't know what he's learning knocking out bums.
