Worse than sturm Macklin. Lara landed 50% of his punches and landed more and Williams landed 19%. HBO crew gave Williams 2 rounds. Lara landed the left over and over and over repeatedly hurting Williams and buckling his legs. I honestly haven't been pissed like this in a long time. I knew Macklin would get robbed in Germany I didn't expect this in Atlantic city

What a horseshit decision. This kind of shit really makes me sick to my stomach. What a fucking shame. Once I heard those 3 dumbass scores I knew what the deal was. Fucking pathetic all the around.

A fantastic day of boxing ruined by some bullshit at the end.

Yep. I like how Max kellerman was outraged. I wish he would have told Williams to his face that he straight up lost.

I don't know what can be done but I'm sure Lara will protest the decision. If the wbc is credible at all the very least they can do is order an immediate rematch like they did with Hopkins Pascal and that at least was a very close fight.

I wish boxing had a commission that could review and overturn decisions like this...its just so fucking bad for the sport and kills any credibility it has left. People see that and just say its fake its fixed might as well watch pro wrestling

Protesting decisions doesn't do anything. These are unfortunately the ridiculous shit that happen in boxing. It's not the first time I've seen it and I'm sure it won't be the last. Hopefully HBO gives Lara another fight straight off he doesn't have to drop back down to a FNF type main event.

I don't knock Williams to be honest with you. He didn't score the fight. I can't imagine most guys in the ring are scoring rounds clearly and every fighter seems to always think they did better than what they actually did.

EDIT: This is also why I stopped betting BTW. It's the reason I didn't drop money on Molina and I refuse to waste any of money only to lose it to three blind men.

And people laughed at me when I said Paul Williams was looking shot in the Kermit fight. I bet after this fight no one is disagreeing with me now. Paul has no defense for the looping left. Lara won 9 to 10 rounds. This was a robbery Lara beat the brakes off Paul.
Bam Bam is a warrior I want to see how he looks at 140lb.

if williams was shot he would have got KO'd last night. To his credit he ate all those shots and kept coming forward.

the problem with williams and his trainer, and they've admitted this numerous times, is that they've made zero adjustments since getting KO'd by martinez. they are complete idiots, or at least his trainer is for not preparing him to fight another southpaw. williams has no clue at all how to block a left hand. absolutely none.

To each his own on that. I've seen plenty of terrible decisions and it still upsets me to this day, especially a guy like Lara who's career I followed since he defected. Knowing how much these guys put in for those 36 minutes, 30 minutes or however many rounds they're fighting and then seeing it all get stripped away because 3 useless pieces of shit don't know what they're watching is a shame.

Max Kellerman's speech at the end of the fight was on point but the people that matter WON'T treat this as a loss for Williams and a win for Lara. At the end of the day Paul Williams & Devon Alexander and basically guaranteed to get another quality payday on HBO while Erislandy Lara & Lucas Matthysee aren't guaranteed anything.

The one thing this fight showed was that Erislandy Lara Vs Carlos Molina was an extremely underrated fight when it happened between two guys who proved themselves to be quality.
