I'd rather let an American Bald Eagle claw my eyes out with its razor sharp talons, than watch another Sergio Mora fight. I hope he gets raped.

Watching Sergio Mora fight is like looking at paint dry. But damn he's fighting at 168lb now I see why Mosley couldn't hurt his sorry ass.

yeah no kidding. Sometimes Golden Boy make the stupidest matches. I mean really what the fuck were they thinking making Mora vs Mosley?? And on PPV? What point did that serve? Terrible, just terrible match making.

For all the bad things Bob Arum does he would have never of done that. Mosley coming off a loss to Mayweather you put him in there with a guy that comes forward and fights not a defensive, avoid contact at all cost guy like Mora, who happens to be a weight class above you and is much taller. lol. so stupid.

Especially when Mora said he couldn't fight at 154 anymore after his loss to Forest. Mora actually has a really good chin. I haven't seen all his fights but I don't ever remember seeing him seriously hurt? He is natrually bigger though and he was pretty drawn out at 54. That's a big jump to 168 though and pretty rare that people do that from 54 to 68. Vera is game and a sneakily hard puncher. Hopefully he destroys this dude.

If I remember correctly Mora came in overweight against Mosley as well.

And yeah, Mora does have a solid chin. I think Forrest hurt him in the second fight but that's all that I can recall.

:edit: (googled it)
Sergio Mora Overweight at 157; Shane Mosley on at 154
http://boxing.fanhouse.com/2010/09/17/sergio-mora-weighs-in-at-157-shane-mosley-on-weight-at-154/

Junior middleweight (154 pounds) former world champion Sergio Mora weighed in at 157 pounds compared to ex-titlist Shane Mosley's 154 even for Saturday night's HBO pay per view, Golden Boy Promotions' clash at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, meaning that Mora will likely be docked 20 percent of his purse.

According to BoxingScene.com's Ernest Gabion, Mora will be penalized despite potentially being allowed to lose the necessary weight.

Mora returned after a while weighing 153.6 according to Dan Rafael of ESPN.com, but still is being fined 20 percent of his $285,000 purse.

Pretty good card on Showbox tonight.

Undefeated Cuban prospect Luis Franco vs KO artist Leonilo Miranda. Franco beat Gamboa twice in the amateurs.

And my favorite African fighter LATEEF. POWER. KAYODE. Fucking savage. Trained by freddie roach.

Miranda is a ridiculously solid fight for a guy in his 9th pro fight. I got a feeling Franco outboxes him to a solid decision.

A few other fights that matter this weekend are happening too..

Rigoberto Alvarez vs. Austin Trout .. Trout after a touted amateur career has had a lackluster professional career for whatever reason. He's finally taking his first step into real competition after 21 fights and about 6 years as a pro.

Tomas Rojas vs. Nobuo Nashiro .. They're fighting for Rojas' WBC strap and both are hit or miss with their performances. Nashiro seems to have been struggling far more than Rojas recently as Rojas scored wins over Kono & Mbamba in the last 2 years.

Ramon Garcia vs. Jesus Geles .. Might not seem like much but both guys have notable wins in the division, both lost their fights early in their careers. Hirales stood out when he upset Casimero, who was on a roll, and ruined his payday against Calderon.

anyone going to this? looks pretty good. I like this Gesta kid

Main Fighters:

• Mercito "No Mercy" Gesta (20-0) 8 Rounds, Televised •
Rising Filipino lightweight pugilist Mercito “No Mercy” Gesta (20-0-1, 10 KOs) is certainly creating a buzz in the boxing world. Going 4-0 this year, great things are expected from the Cebu City native who now fights from San Diego, California. With a great run in 2010, Gesta’s manager and co-trainer Vincent Parra of Rogue Promotions says that his ward is now poised to take on the world stage in the middle of 2011.

• Karim "Hard Hitta" Mayfield (13-0) 6 Rounds, Televised •
Boxers subject themselves to strict diets, long runs and punches to the head and stomach to win better lives. Many, like the Fillmore's Karim Mayfield, survived the inner-city streets and walk into a gym for the first time with their fists already balled up. He is 13-0 with seven knockouts, and eight of those fights were last-minute deals against fighters who were supposed to beat him.

• Eloy "The Prince" Perez (19-0) 8 Rounds, Televised •
“Eloy is in the great shape, we had a great training camp, tough sparring and I know he’s definitely put the work in the gym to come out with the win in this fight,” said chief trainer Max Garcia. “Eloy definitely has what it takes to become a world champion and this fight will bring us one step closer to achieving that goal.”

• Joe "The Punisher" Gumina (Pro Debut, 175lbs) •
At first Joe Gumina seems like a well-mannered young man, but
underneath the veneer of politeness is a fighter who loves doing one thing - and he does it well. “The love of hurting people, man, there’s no adrenaline rush like it,” Gumina said of his love for boxing. “It’s the greatest feeling ever when you knock someone out.”

Vera with another big upset. Fuck the latin fake. Hopefully Vera vs Pavlik on the Pac/Mosley undercard.

Lateef Kayode was very disappointing. He probably should have lost. Basic movement confused the shit out of him. He needs a lot of work.

The Franco fight was dope. It was close probably could have gone either way as well. Franco's problem is he has no power at all. That's going to be a big problem for him with his style of fighting.
