Floyd came out during the first interviews of his tour with Canelo and was asked about Mikey Bey n Love. He said Bey was excused cuz a doctor gave him drugs and Love didn't use a drug that enhanced his strength so its more of a self discipline issue with Love. He continued on and said Mayweather is a clean fighter and that's all we need to worry about then passed the question over to that fool that looks like Mack 10

Matthysse’s promoter expects news on Danny Garcia fight in next 48 hours
July 1st, 2013 | Post Comment -62 Comments

Garcia Matthysse Garcia vs. Matthysse lucas matthysse danny garcia By Dan Ambrose: Mario Arano, the promoter for WBC interim light welterweight champion Lucas Matthysse (34-2, 32 KO’s), says he expects to know more information about whether the fight between Matthysse and WBA/WBC light welterweight champion Danny Garcia (26-0, 16 KO’s) will be taking place within the next couple of days.

Garcia has been ordered by the World Boxing Council to face Matthysse next, so if Garcia chooses to dodge the fight, then he’ll be stripped if he doesn’t vacate the title first.

Arano said to Mas Deportivo “Matthysse has the opportunity to become a super star win the world…I believe that within 48 hours are should arrive to fruition with the negotiations.”

Matters have been complicated recently with rumors that Danny could be fighting Zab Judah again rather than facing Matthysse.

Garcia just beat Judah by a 12 round unanimous decision last April in a close fight. There’s no point in Garcia fighting Judah again immediately; not with a much better fight between Garcia and Matthysse right in front of him.

Garcia had the chance to fight Matthysse last April, but he instead chose to fight the lesser threat of Judah.

Matthysse is coming off an impressive 3rd round TKO win over Lamont Peterson last May. Matthysse knocked Peterson down three times in a one-sided slaughter.

Garcia will take a ton of heat from boxing fans if he chooses to vacate his WBC title or having the WBC strip it from him for failing to fight Matthysse. Garcia has already had three fights against older fighters recently in facing Erik Morales twice and Judah.

It’s starting to look like Garcia is focusing mainly on fighting old timers instead of younger more relevant fighters still in their prime.

Matthysse will be a tough fight for Garcia if he chooses to face him. Garcia is more of a one-handed fighter and not really dangerous right his right hand. Matthysse is a much better puncher and capable of throwing with huge power with both hands equally.

Sergio Martinez won’t be fighting until 2014, says Dibella
July 1st, 2013 | Post Comment -29 Comments

sergio martinez gennady golovkin By Allan Fox: If you were hoping to see WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (51-2-2, 28 KO’s) step up to the plate and face the dangerous IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (27-0, 24 KO’s) in a unification match this year you can forget it because Sergio’s promoter Lou Dibella is saying that he’ll be out of action the remainder of the 2013 healing from his injuries sustained in his hard-fought 12 round unanimous decision win over Martin Murray last April in Argentina.

Martinez will hopefully be fighting in early 2014, but not against Golovkin.

Dibella said to fightnews “Right now, his [Sergio] concentration is on healing and rehabilitation and he will not fight until sometime in the first half of 2014.”

If a Golovkin-Martinez fight does take place next year, then it’ll have to be in the second half of the year. However, I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for Dibella to make that fight. If he doesn’t ignore it altogether, it’s very possible Martinez could wind up with new injuries when he fights next in early 2014, and those injuries would make it difficult for Sergio to fight Golovkin in the 2nd half of the year.

Martinez will be turning 39-years-old in February, and he’s really starting to show his age since his win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. last year in September. Martinez tore up a knee and broke a hand in that fight. There’s talk that Martinez didn’t properly rehab his injured knee and that was one of the reasons why he struggled to beat Martin Murray last April.

Never the less, Martinez broke his left hand in the Murray fight and he tweaked his previously injured knee as well. Martinez is at the age where it’s difficult to fight without suffering some kind of injury. The problem is the injuries are keeping him out of action, and you can expect an injury that will keep him out of the ring after his next fight.

It’s likely that Dibella will choose to match Martinez up against other fighters rather than putting him in with Golovkin any time soon. If that was the biggest money fight and the most winnable option for Martinez, Dibella would probably make that fight in a second, but it’s not.

Martinez can make more money fighting the likes of Chavez Jr. and have a better shot at winning the fight than he would against Golovkin.

G G G: Mayweather Is My Dream Fight

Bill "Two Scoops" Emes

IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (27-0, 24KOs) told BoxingScene.com that his dream fight is a showdown with the pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26KOs). Mayweather challenges WBC/WBA 154-pound champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Golovkin returned on Saturday night and destroyed Matthew Macklin in three short rounds, which he closed out with a wicked hook to the body. Golovkin has said in the past that he's willing to drop down to 154-pounds to face Mayweather. "This is my dream, this is my dream, this is a big present for me. This is business," Golovkin told BoxingScene.com.

NAAZIM RICHARDSON SAYS BRANDON RIOS COULD BE THE FIRST TO BEAT UP MANNY PACQUIAO FOR 12 ROUNDS
By Ben Thompson | July 02, 2013

"Brandon Rios can be the first guy that really beats him up for 12 rounds," stated world-class trainer Naazim Richardson, who shared his thoughts on the anticipated November 23 showdown between multi-division world champion Manny Pacquiao and former lightweight champion Brandon Rios. According to Richardson, the blueprint to defeat Pacquiao has been out ever since he worked with future Hall of Famer "Sugar" Shane Mosley for their clash with the Filipino icon back in 2011. Although they lost that fight, Richardson believes it was the start of a tough final leg of Pacquiao's career.

"I told them a while back and they thought I was wrong when I said it, but one is, when he fought Shane, I said, 'He will never have another easy fight and his days are numbered.' And I wasn't hating because I am a Pacquiao fan," Richardson explained during a recent conversation with FightHype's own Percy Crawford. "I gotta admit, I really really like this guy. I told you that before we fought against him. I said, 'Yo, if you don't like him, you must don't like boxing.' He gives you everything that you want to see in boxing: one-punch knockouts, speed, power, he takes his shots, he's exciting, he's rough, and he never takes the easy way out. Anything you are a fan of in boxing, he is."

That being said, all of those traits could be Pacquiao's downfall when he steps into the ring with a younger, hungrier, hard-hitting Rios, especially considering that it will be Pacquiao's first fight back after suffering a devastating knockout loss to Juan Manuel Marquez. Pacquiao is definitely taking the hard road back, as Rios is not the type of easy opponent one would expect for a fighter who was knocked out cold in his last bout.

KARIM MAYFIELD: "I'LL BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF BRONER"
By Percy Crawford | July 02, 2013

"They got the boy Broner talking about who the fans want to see him fight next. That would be a beautiful fight for me. I will fight dude at 140, 147 all day. Honestly, I thought he was gonna stop Paulie Malignaggi because I helped Paulie get ready for that fight, and with that being said, I got the usual of what happens to me. I got sent home early...I'll beat the shit out of Broner. I saw all I had to see from him and recognize it. That would be a good fight for me right now. Of course I want Danny Garcia, but the kid got his track shoes on; he ain't looking towards this way. He might not be looking towards the Argentinian way [Lucas Matthysse] and I will definitely give it to him too. Everybody running from him. I ain't running. I'm gonna tell you that right now. If I'm running, I'm rushing to fight them, ya dig! I had a tough road, man. I'm ready. I been fighting these type of guys," stated undefeated jr. welterweight contender Karim Mayfield, who talked about his future plan, including a potential return to the ring on September 7, and much more. Check it out!

PC: Congratulations on signing with Top Rank Promotions. How did it come about?

KM: Well, Top Rank been seeing me. They offered me a few fights in the past. They seen me get down with Pacquiao, man; Bob Arum himself seen it. I guess they were waiting for me to get up in the rankings first to make sure I was the real deal, and they see I have been capitalizing on each opportunity that was presented to me and it was a good fit.

PC: Can we expect to see you campaign at 140, where we are accustomed to seeing you at, or will you go up to 47 where Top Rank has some heavy hitters at?

KM: Considering that only my last 4 fights have been at junior welterweight, because normally, I had been fighting at 147 pounds, so at any time, if an opportunity presents itself, I will definitely capitalize on a 147 fight. With that being said, I'm still campaigning at 140 and I plan on cleaning out the division. But if the right opportunity comes forth, I'm definitely looking forward to taking one of those fights.

PC: Is signing with Top Rank you conceding to the fact that you don't think Danny Garcia was ever going to fight you?

KM: For the most part, I hadn't been signed by a major company and I had been ranked in the top 10 without the major backing of a promoter. I was signed by a major promoter and they offered a date soon. I don't know if I would say barking up the wrong tree, but there are a couple of 140-pound fighters that Golden Boy has and I don't see them making me first choice or giving me an opportunity.

PC: You have been in many camps with world champions. Do you feel like the work that you gave them in the gym kind of hindered your ability to get some of the fights you have been wanting?

KM: That could be a reason. In hindsight, you look at it like I wish maybe I wouldn't have went in...honestly though, I'm not the only one that can get down. I'm sure there are cats out there who are doing things. I don't know if they are doing it like me and working these champions over when given the opportunities, but this kind of stuff been going on for a long time. I think that once they look at my record and compare they record to it, like a Danny Garcia, he ain't fighting nobody, man. None of these cats got an old school record like mine. I wasn't even 10 fights in and I think I had fought 5 or 6 undefeated guys. Not only were they undefeated, but they were promoter's fighters, and that's from everybody from Dan Goosen to Lou DiBella and Don King and Floyd's guys; you name them. Golden Boy, I have been matched up against their guys. But going back to your question, I can see that being a reason, but in a little bit, they ain't gonna be able to stop me.

PC: I watched the video that was put out by you on WSHH and watching that video, it seems like the thing that gets under your skin the most is that Danny Garcia acted like he didn't know who you were. Is that the main thing that bothers you about the Garcia situation?

KM: I have been raised a whole different way, so I wouldn't say it got under my skin. When it's suckas around, you don't let suckas get to you, you know what I mean? It may have been a little irritating, but for the most part, I can't let it bother me too much. To me and where I came up, that's called sucka shit. That's hoe shit. And really, that video was supposed to...right when they say, "Who is that boy," and he say, "I don't know," it was supposed to have a clip in there that says, "You know you done fucked up, right?" He say he didn't know who I was when I was there giving him work. But he gonna say he didn't know. He real carried off for saying that. And then it's like, okay, who is this guy? Who trying to hide him?

PC: Now you are with a big promoter. When can we expect you in the ring?

KM: Hopefully we will be on the September 7th card, if I'm not mistaken; the Cesar Chavez Jr. at the Staples Center card. We trying to work out a few things right now before we see who my opponent will be, but hopefully I will be on that card. We are in negotiations about fighting in September.

PC: I know fighters don't like to over-peak. Have you been in the gym or just taking it easy until something came up?

KM: It's a trip you said that because I was just telling my folks this. They got this strength coach out here and they were asking me why I'm not working out with him. I told them I'm doing enough to maintain, that way I don't peak too early. Certain aspects of my training, I don't go into it until I'm literally like 6 to 8 weeks out. Other than that, I'm training to maintain is what I say. But 6 weeks out, I'm training and gaining. I been giving Andre Berto rounds and a few other fighters. So I train and get in work with elite and world-class fighters and stay on my game; and I'm still sharp and giving them 5, 6 to 7 rounds and I'm 8 months removed from my last fight. I'm getting world-class fighters 6 to 7 rounds, so I would say I'm definitely in good condition still.

PC: I can't wait to see you back in there. Congrats again on the signing. I know you always got something for me in closing, so what you got my man?

KM: My closing thoughts, man, they got the boy Broner talking about who the fans want to see him fight next. That would be a beautiful fight for me. I will fight dude at 140, 147 all day. Honestly, I thought he was gonna stop Paulie Malignaggi because I helped Paulie get ready for that fight, and with that being said, I got the usual of what happens to me. I got sent home early. I was only in there for 2 weeks and dude was talking about he was peaking. I'm like, "Bruh, you a month out." That was that work I was giving him. So they sent me home early. Paulie is a cool fighter, but if I wanted to push the gas on him, I could have pushed the gas on him. And to keep it 1,000 with you (laughing), I'm about to give you an exclusive, right; I asked him to mention me because he was about to be commentating a Showtime event when he did Peterson/Matthysse, so I told him to throw my name out there for someone who he had been sparring with to get ready. Dude didn't say my name on the Showtime date, so I was like, "Come Monday, I'm finna put full gas on him." I'm thinking in my mind I'm finna get sent home. But I spoke to my advisor and he was like, "Karim, don't get sent home yet. You got a month left and it's a lot of exposure for you with Showtime and they paying you good." So I didn't even give him full gas and I still got sent home. So with that being said, I thought Broner was going to stop him because I know I didn't give him full gas and I knew Broner would be going hard, and the dude won a split decision; man, that's crazy. So in closing, I'll beat the shit out of Broner. Cant believe Garcia vs Mattysse is still not signed!!!

Garcia after stalling pulled the "I want additional drug testing" and Matthysse agreed. Then Garcia is talking about how its fishy that Matthysse trains in Argentina (where he fucking lives lol) and said he should train in the US, Matthysse agreed to that to still no signature!!!

People have to call out the title holders, not just any other fighter, cuz then it just looks like some personal beef or something. If Broner nor Garcia had titles, no one would give a fuck about them. They would be calling the champs out too

HBO & K2 are trying to air the last 2 GGG fights in 2013 on HBO

Im told that HBO and K2 are looking to find a way to make sure the last 2 GGG fights in 2013 are televised on the network #boxing

Previously GGG was going to fight off network and then fight on HBO in November.
