that's what it fucking says lol

Ramos vs Rigondeaux (undercard)
Tavoris Cloud vs Erdei (main event)

I predict Rigondeaux schooling Ramos and becoming the new champion. Cloud vs Erdei is going to be a good one, tough one to call as Erdei is underrated and a good fighter. He destroyed a prime Julio Cesar Gonzalez some years ago. He's 37 now though but he's still good enough to beat Giacobbe Fragomeni who outweighed him by 20 pounds on the weigh in.

All these guys are undefeated btw.

Erdei: 33-0
Cloud: 23-0

Ramos: 20-0
Rigondeaux: 8-0

btw naner, if you're reading, do you consider Erdei to still be the lineal champ at 175 even though he left the division then came back?
Nope. Once he went to cruiser after being gone so long from LHW, without stating intentions of coming back to the division the title goes in the air. Chad Dawson is technically the lineal champ.

.. and I think the Rigo/Ramos fight isn't going to be a "fan friendly" fight in the sense of what it's used know but I think Rigo is gonna school Ramos, and likely stop him mid rounds. I'm definitely excited about it.

That Chuck Wepner documentary that trips posted is pretty dope. I watched it on Tuesday on ESPN, definitely recommended watching for anyone, not just boxing fans. A lot of behind the scenes shit from the lawsuit and from his fight with Ali that I didn't know previously.

By Dan Ambrose: Photo credit: Alma Montiel – At a press conference on Wednesday, WBC junior middleweight champion Saul Alvarez isn’t admitting that he hit International Boxing Federation (IBF) light-flyweight champion Ulysses ‘Archie’ Solis with a two punch combination during a training incident at the Barranca de Oblates in Jalisco, Guadalajara, Mexico.

Solis suffered injury to his jaw and will have to undergo surgery to fix the problem. WBC president José Sulaimán is backing the 21-year-old Alvarez, believing he’s innocent. However, Sulaimán says they’ll still pay the medical costs for Solis.

Alvarez has a brief statement saying “I’m a young man that does not get involved in any scandals or trouble of any sort.”

Given that there’s no witnesses that can verify that this actually took place it looks like it’s Solis’ word against Alvarez’s.

Alvarez defends his WBC title on November 26th against former IBF welterweight champion Kermit Cintron on HBO in a fight that will be taking place in Mexico. This will be Alvarez’s 3rd title defense since winning the vacant WBC title earlier in the year in a win over Matthew Hatton. In his two title defenses Alvarez has defeated Ryan Rhodes and Alonso Gomez. However, Alvarez has taken criticism because he hasn’t taken on two of the top contenders in the division Alfredo Angulo and Vanes Martirosyan. Alvarez is going to have to face at least one of them in the near future, and it could be very tough for him to get past those fighters. Alvarez didn’t look very good in his last fight against Gomez, taking a lot of shots until he finally halted Gomez in the 6th round last September.
In short - They are going to give Solis some bread to shut the fuck up and move on.

Brandon Rios vs. Yuriorkis Gamboa in 2012, says Arum

By Chris Williams: Bob Arum, the promoter for both for former WBA featherweight champion Yuriorkis Gamboa (21-0, 16 KO’s) and the current WBA lightweight champion Brandon Rios (28-0-1, 21 KO’s), says he wants to match Gamboa and Rios up against each other sometime in 2012.

Arum isn’t saying exactly when, and knowing him, he could end up waiting too long on this fight like he did with the Juan Manuel Lopez vs. Gamboa fight he once had high hopes of putting together. Arum let that fight wait a couple of years, letting it slowly “marinate” until Lopez was finally knocked out. Now I guess Arum can still put the fight together, but the interest in the fight has plummeted.

Arum said this to Ringtv: “That is the game plan, for Gamboa and Rios to meet next year. I don’t know when, but it will be whenever we feel the cake is baked.”

The good news is Rios is taking on a soft touch on December 3rd in John Murray, so Rios isn’t likely to mess things up on his end by getting beaten and ruining the possible Gamboa-Rios fight. And for his part, Gamboa could be fighting in February of next year. Arum doesn’t say who it’ll be, but it’ll likely be no one seriously good. Arum has been very, very careful with Gamboa, and I expect that to continue into next year.

If Arum doesn’t skip 2012 for the Gamboa-Rios fight, I think it’s a bout that Rios may likely win at this point. He’s a lot bigger than Gamboa, and while he’s not as fast as him, he’s good at trapping his opponents and chopping them down. I think Gamboa would be in a world of hurt against Rios. We saw Gamboa struggle against Orlando Salido and Daniel Ponce De Leon. Well, Rios is a lot stronger than both of those guys and I think he’s just too big for Gamboa.

I see Arum letting the cake bake in 2012, and waiting until 2013 to finally put them together. Arum won’t want one of them to get beaten and lose their marketability. He’s very protective of his fighters, mainly putting them in situations where they’ll definitely win. Since this is an in house fight, Arum will be hurting himself by putting this bout together. I doubt he’ll make the fight because of that.

Roach: Pacquiao vs. Mayweather needs to happen now; people are losing interest

By Chris Williams: Freddie Roach says he wants to see the Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. mega fight happen right now while both fighters are still relatively in their primes. Roach didn’t seem as anxious for the fight to happen last year when Mayweather was agreeing to weight penalties, glove sizes, and purse splits.

“They’re both in their primes right now,” Roach said to esnewsreporting.com. “I think it needs to happen now. People in the world are getting tired of it, and losing interest. We have a two year window on our side. If he [Mayweather] doesn’t come to the table, Manny’s going to go on and be a politician. Mayweather will retire undefeated and say he’s the best ever, but he didn’t fight Manny Pacquiao.”

As I’ve said before, this is a fight that can be made easily if Roach and Bob Arum put pressure on Pacquiao to stay in the U.S for the random blood tests that Mayweather has been asking for a long time. It’s a pretty simple fight to put together as long as Pacquiao’s team are open to the full random drug tests for performance enhancing drugs

I think they both should fight and fans are losing interest.

Mayweather has been pretty quiet, he's probably waiting on the outcome of Pacquiao vs JMM3 is my only guess, because he hasn't said anything about his next opponent or taking another vacation.

But I don't think they should ask Pacquiao to remain in the US to train, that would be too much and unfair to Pacquiao because he would have to alter his training. He should accept the blood test that Mosely and Ortiz accepted, but he still should be allowed to do his normal training in the phillipines.

danrafaelespn Dan Rafael
The Mayweather-Ortiz fight generated $78,440,000 in PPV revenue, making it the 2nd-highest grossing non-heavyweight PPV ever. #boxing

Those who wrote Mayweather-Ortiz did 850,000 buys or some other bogus number had no facts, just rumor, to back up their fraudulent reporting
