We may want to start another thread if we're gonna talk about undeserving title shots heh. I look it at solely off if it's a decent fight perspective, and I think Santana can put up a decent fight in a losing effort.

I'm not too bothered by Jacobs/Fletcher either because that's the WBAs making. They obviously wanted Bursak to beat him and it didn't play out that way, and as silly as the mandatory fight may have been Fletcher earned it in the ring.

The Garcia/Salka is the disappointing one. You have unified title holder in a deep division fighting in a throw away fight.

Definitely not a ratings grabber though.

Fuck every other fight announced, Chocolatito is about to fight for the longest running lineal title currently held in boxing.

The long awaited announcement of Akira Yaegashi's (20-3, 10) WBC Flyweight title defence against the unbeaten Roman Gonzalez (39-0, 33) was made earlier today at a press conference by Hideyuki Ohashi of Ohashi Gym, with the date of the fight announced as September 5th.

The bout, which was all but signed and sealed this year, had seen both men preparing in the knowledge that they would be fight but we were all awaiting for an actual date for the fight, thankfully we now have it and the Flyweight super fight is something we will all be looking forward to.

As well as the announcement of "the worst kept secret in boxing" the press conference also announced that WBC Light Flyweight champion and current Japanese boxing megastar Naoya Inoue (6-0, 5) would be featured on the show defending his belt against Thailand's Samartlek Kokietgym (16-4, 5). Samartlek, ranked #15 by the WBC, is a disappointing opponent in many ways but it seems clear that Inoue wants an easy defence at 108lbs before leaving the division that he clearly struggles to make.

Whilst no other bouts for the show have been announced we're expecting to see Takuma Inoue (2-0) featuring somewhere with rumours that he could be in a Japanese title fight on the same show as he attempts to break the national record for fewest fights to win a Japanese title. At the moment however this is just a rumour with other swirling around about various Ohashi fighters.

For those interested in the venue the fight will be held at the Second Gymnasium of Yoyogi National Stadium.

Golden Boy split just got real:

Last week, Golden Boy filed an arbitration for $50 million in damages against Schaefer, who resigned as CEO earlier this month, a source with knowledge of the filing told ESPN.com on Thursday.

Other than the dollar figure it is asking for, it is unclear what Golden Boy is accusing Schaefer of, although much of the public discussion surrounding his leaving the company has centered on the fact that he regularly put fighters advised by Al Haymon on major cards even though Golden Boy did not have them under promotional contract, which angered De La Hoya.
