Jim Brown
Walter Payton
Barry Sanders

Obviously Bears fans are gonna say Payton…and Browns fans are gonna say Brown. Everyone else will probably split.

I’m thinking some of these younger folks are saying Barry and Emmitt cause they haven’t really seen some tapes on Brown and Payton.

For Brown to even still be in the top 10 in yards and TD’s…that should tell you something. He only played 9 seasons and the seasons back then were only 12 and 14 games. If he would have played a whole career and 16 games like we have now…his numbers would be ridiculous.

Yall smokin some bad crack if u didnt vote for J. Brown! I know u cant say who the best "player" in football is cause theres to many diff positions, but J. Brown may have been footballs greatest player ever, not just RB!! Yall trippin if u think Barry is better than him! And Jackson & Craig shouldnt even be on this list!! But Im sure thats the bay area bias ofcourse! And here is more hate from the gansta red typer fatal sayin LT is already better than Emmitt!! Keep dreamin scrub cause LT aint close to Emmitt!! Hes got along way to go!!
My probable order
1. J. Brown
2. E. Smith
3. B. Sanders
4. O.J. Simpson
5. E. Dickerson

Barry was dope, but he didnt usually led the league in carries for loss yards, and he always came out in goalline or short yardage situations! He was a highlight reel for sure, but not the greatest RB!! Got Em!!

Jim Brown was a beast I look at some of his old highlight reels and just be amazed at what he did. After him is a toss up to me with Barry and Payton. When I watched Barry Sanders play I remember thinking this is the true definition of a running back.

I can't really judge Jim Brown because I've never seen him run. He played in an era when the defensive schemes and players weren't as good. Not trying to discredit him though...

My vote went to Barry because teams knew that Detroit was garbage and Barry was their only weapon but they still couldn't stop him. Barry had it all... speed, elusiveness, jukes, agility... everything you'd want in a running back. Plus he ran mostly out of single back sets (with no lead fullback). Barry couldn't be touched! Second I'd vote for Walter Payton.

Not if you know anything about football.

Emmitt's line is to thank. He was a good back, but without that line he would not be the all-time leader in any category.
.....He's not the most talented back, but numbers dont lie....Jim Brown is who i voted for...And like you said...This guy Tomlinson you speak of is at 10,225 total yards right now....111 total touchdowns..he's not bad either....Not to mention his receivieng yards 3,327.....Tomlinson is gonna be one of the greatest to play....

And where is Terrell Davis? He should be on this list. I know his career was cut short due to injuries but Terrell was hard. Here's my list:

Barry Sanders
Terrell Davis
Walter Payton
L.T.
