"BARRY IS THE BEST DEAL WITH IT. THERE PROBABLY NEVER BE ANOTHER RUNNING BACK LIKE HIM"

Barry was the shit, but rewind about 30 an there is a rb just like him..........Gayle Sayers

if any of your grandfathers are still alive an watch football, ask them who the best was. they had a chance to see all the great ones play. I bet you they say Jim Brown an it wont take them a half second to answer

i agree with you i am too young to have seen payton but ive seen his nfl films and other shit fool was great

Jim Brown
Walter Payton
Barry Sanders

Obviously Bears fans are gonna say Payton…and Browns fans are gonna say Brown. Everyone else will probably split.

I’m thinking some of these younger folks are saying Barry and Emmitt cause they haven’t really seen some tapes on Brown and Payton.

For Brown to even still be in the top 10 in yards and TD’s…that should tell you something. He only played 9 seasons and the seasons back then were only 12 and 14 games. If he would have played a whole career and 16 games like we have now…his numbers would be ridiculous.

players are NOT better now then they were back in Brown's days.........back then they had heart, an played to play.
Give me a break. Alex Smith has heart, does that make him any good? Didn't think so.

alot of them dudes worked normal jobs, then rode buses across the country to play a football game. then after the game they would go up into the stands an meet fans. now days people run outta bounds like its the thing to do, or just give up on chasin someone down because they dont wanna risk anything
And that has what to do with their ability and talent?

Oh that's right, nothing.

an I dont remember who said it, but I read that if you put Barry back in time he would tear shit up in Browns era...........Barry's whole game was makin people miss....back then they were real lax on penalties, late hits were the norm. I dont think Barry woulda played as long as he did if he had to play against Dick Butkus, an Ray Nitchski twice a season
So he makes people miss, but you claim the guys back then hit harder.. Well if he's making them miss, then he's not getting hit at all. Nice try.

I don't know if you've ever played organized football (defensively), but it's very hard to make a big hit on a shifty guy because if you try too hard you will be juked out and look like an idiot. Not only that, but it's hard to get clean hits on guys who are constantly moving and shifting like Barry was.

an some one else commented on how Barrys line was shitty.....news flash homie, most of the GREAT running backs had shit lines, thats what made them great. Payton played on some of the shittiest teams ever

Please. Barry's line was notoriously shitty. Everyone knows it. No other great RB had a shittier line than Barry.

I agree with all of Fatal's points about Barry. I think he was the best ever. But with that being said Adrian Peterson is creeping. If he's able to keep his knees healthy Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, and Walter Payton better look out.
