I’m thinking some of these younger folks are saying Barry and Emmitt cause they haven’t really seen some tapes on Brown and Payton.

For Brown to even still be in the top 10 in yards and TD’s…that should tell you something. He only played 9 seasons and the seasons back then were only 12 and 14 games. If he would have played a whole career and 16 games like we have now…his numbers would be ridiculous.

alot of them dudes worked normal jobs, then rode buses across the country to play a football game. then after the game they would go up into the stands an meet fans. now days people run outta bounds like its the thing to do, or just give up on chasin someone down because they dont wanna risk anything

an I dont remember who said it, but I read that if you put Barry back in time he would tear shit up in Browns era...........Barry's whole game was makin people miss....back then they were real lax on penalties, late hits were the norm. I dont think Barry woulda played as long as he did if he had to play against Dick Butkus, an Ray Nitchski twice a season

I don't know if you've ever played organized football (defensively), but it's very hard to make a big hit on a shifty guy because if you try too hard you will be juked out and look like an idiot. Not only that, but it's hard to get clean hits on guys who are constantly moving and shifting like Barry was.

Please. Barry's line was notoriously shitty. Everyone knows it. No other great RB had a shittier line than Barry.

I agree with all of Fatal's points about Barry. I think he was the best ever. But with that being said Adrian Peterson is creeping. If he's able to keep his knees healthy Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, and Walter Payton better look out.
