what purpose would it serve hopkins to quit though? would he quit on purpose to get a NC? it was round 2. With Kermit Cintron it was round 4 where it would go to the scorecards (if he was faking that's what he was thinking he thought he was winning the fight and it woudl go too the cards).

Both hopkins & dawson landed 5 punches total according to compubox. Neither fighter landed anything close to a significant punch. Hopkins is a slow starter as well, he was down the first four rounds in the first fight against pascal as well as the second.

So I don't see the logic. At worst on his part, he was milking for a point deduction. At best he was truly hurt. Either way there shouldn't be a winner declared after only 2 rounds.

HERESY, even if an MRI shows no serious injury it still wouldn't matter because rules are rules.
In a perfect world it shouldn't matter but some of these fucks tend to write/make the rules as they go along. When Max wanted to talk to the ref (and you can tell he was upset) he wasn't allowed to. I don't trust these fools one bit.

Still, the guy should not have been awarded the fight, especially a TKO.

Hopkins said the ref asked him if he could continue, he said yes, he then said the ref called the fight because he couldn't fight with one arm. Even though the ref didn't call it a foul, it should be an accidental foul or accidental injury, and it should be overturned.

right, that whole thing went down so strange with the ref being taken away then everyone from the commission just disappearing when max tried to track them down. wtf was that about
They took that fool away so he wouldn't say anything that would A.) get his ass lynched in the ring and B.) would come back to haunt the commision. Strange shit indeed. I also don't see a reason why Hopkins would pull a stunt like this (if he was faking it.) Dawson wasn't dominating the fight, we were only in round two and he starts out slow usually. However, I did notice something different about Hopkins and how he acted after this fight compared ot how he acted after the first Pascal fight (which I had him losing btw.)

With Pascal, he seemed real shaken up and angry that it went down how it did. However, in this one he didn't seem angry and kinda avoided Max's questions. I'm gonna chalk that up to maybe him being in pain and still in shock but it's something I noticed.

The link you posted is basically what happened. He got tossed to the ground, landed on his elbow, probably fucked his shoulder up, ref called it a tko because he couldn't continue.
Hopkins didn't get tossed, he jumped on dawsons back and got shoved off. Dawson didnt do anything wrong

you can go to the doctor and fake an x-ray for a dislocated shoulder? how does that work?

"Hopkins was released from the California Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles after being x-rayed and examined by Dr. Sam Thurber, MD who diagnosed Hopkins with a separation of the acromioclavicular (A-C) joint which connects the collar bone and shoulder blade."
