I played the first one and it was alright. The gameplay was decent, and the story was ok, but it just didn't feel like anything was really at stake. It was kind of humorous, and the characters were a little witty, but it felt pretty generic.
The one thing I definitely liked was the destructibility of all the buildings, it was cool to shoot a grenade into a wall, and then cap the enemy behind said wall.
I also got the beta for Bad Company 2, and I only played it for like five minutes. I didn't really know what was going on.
I'll wait and see how the campaign is reviewed, since that's my primary reason for playing games, and then I'll decide if it's a rent or a purchase.
