Were you seeding?
Must have been...

That's why Megaupload's death was such a blow - file hosting sites provided the safest way to download stuff (no seeding, no problem), now with people going back to torrents, they will bring back the scare tactics from the mid-2000s

With the help of these new bills they rename and keep trying to pass like ACTA/SOPA ect.. they will get their way too.

Hopefully new sites keep popping up, bottom line is the entertainment industry has been devalued for two reasons, internet and a costant stream of shitty products.

Tell them you own the original but you lost/broke the disc.
Then tell them to fuck off!

Am I the only one on the board that downloads via usenet?

People are probably going to write this off but it is a valid defense.

A while back when I was very much into "computer security" I was doing a vulnerability scan on a broad range of IP's. I got a call from Comcast asking what I was doing. I played stupid the entire time and in doing so they were convinced I had a virus and that someone was rerouting via my PC and doing the scans. I agreed to run a virus scan and that was the end of it. Leaving your wireless open is not a good idea but if/when shit hits the fan, and they ask about it, tell them you do not have a password-protected wireless broadcast. And when they ask about movies say "what are you talking about?". Just play stupid.

But the best advice is to use private trackers.

port 443 and 139?

The biggest differences between private and public trackers is that one is invite only and there are no external torrents. In other words, all the torrents are exclusive to that site. The other is that the content is monitored so the chances you could get a virus are very minimal. The way the MPAA gains insight into what you're dowloading is by downloading the .torrent and looking in the swarm.

I'd be willing to get some of you onto some private trackers but you'd have to prove to me you are capable of seding the right way.

Check out the mp4 forum... Have a demonoid thread, and its turning into a overall private tracker, and usenet thread.

You should always read the comment system, odds are a lot of people got the notification, and commented on it, and you just didn't read it was being tracked.

Movies that are either new, or leaked for release on torrent sites seem to be higher % tracked. Especially on public sites.

I'm learning how to usenetz, thanks to the euro breh, and I'll make a tutorial on it in the mp4 forum if I gather all the shit needed, and get good at it. From what I read it's way safer way of file sharing.
